Official MTB / Mountain Biking Chit Chat

Finally rode up to the peak and down one of my favorite trails in OC. The moist dirt and rock sections make the big climb so worth it!! Everything else in OC right now is dusty, blown out, and overused

Just rebuilt up this over the last week.

My old school SS originally built in 1999. Had so much fun on this bike back in the day.

Totally cool til the handlebrahs. Why so high?

Klunker / Kruiser brah. So comfy and jump-able... All the kids are rocking deez.

....and this is not my primary trail bike anymore. I am probably hooking up my daughter's Burley and driving her to school on this beast (in style)!

Tedo is that a chameleon?

yerp. 1999. Doesn't even have rear disk brake mounts! Grrr.

Was the first bike I ever built from the ground up. And the oldest bike in my stable (could never part with it, even when it was in pieces for years).

It has the first ever splined bottom bracket paired with the first splined RF Turbine crank. Not that any one really cares, because bikes these days are so good. But, the older I get, the more I just want to have fun. And this bike was very, very special and brings back memories of some of the best times of my life.

Should be a fun bike again...

I can't recall where all my bikes have gone. Regret selling a Cannondale M800 Beast of The East rigid bike, with Maguras.

Nice!
I have one too but it's only a couple years old. They are fun bikes and I like that you can set them up however you want hence the name.

^^I dig the hell outta that Fat Bike "thumbsup"

Got in my first MTB ride of the season yesterday after work. I was sick for about 10 days, just getting over it now. Needless to say, I felt like complete shite on the bike, really weak and run down feeling. Man, I need a lotta miles to get back in form. Luckily my riding season (when work hours taper off) is just around the corner to take care of that. Still had fun though.

I wish I could go riding, but the narrow streets, trails that aren't plowed and the 10-15ft snowbanks everywhere aren't helping...I'll be lucky if I can get a ride in before June haha

looks like the table has turned. I live here in Manitoba by the arctic circle crap and usually have snow till May, but we have been lucky, no more snow and warmer weather. My cousin lives up in Halifax and she said it's like first day of winter.lol

Yeah, we've gotten hammered this year. Hell, February is when we got almost all of it. Halifax got hit Wednesday, I can say I am not sorry for them one bit :ror:, it's about damn time they've had their share too.

I will play devils advocate here. Have had a dropper for a year on my all mountain bike and I don't think it was worth it. There is not an improvement in my downhill time when dropped. I push my seat against the side of my legs when cornering and when it is dropped it hits lower down my leg and provides less leverage and balance. If that was not explained well let me know.
