No Drift Winch Controller! (using 3 position transmitter channel)

Heyok can you help me out? Just bought my second 3 position controller.
HeyOK Winch Controller for Radio with Three Position Channel
Got it soldered in and it only runs in one direction. This controller is not the same as the first one which had external power leads. I know it not the third channel on the TX (GT3C). Just tried the other one and works fine on the third channel. Notice I did not remove all the circuit board. I always leave some of it for a torque arm.

I just ordered one of these relays for my 3Racing winch from RPP.My question is,can i still run the truck on 3S power through the receiver?I think i burned up the original controller supplied with winch by running it on 3S.Hopefully it didnt fry the motor, because i tried two different winches forgetting about the voltage limit on 3Racing controller.Let me know

You call it a "relay" but this winch controller doesn't contain any relays.
I hear what you are saying about 3S, but I think that you might be missing a bit of the foundation of how the electrical works on the crawlers that we deal with.

This winch controller gets its power from the plug that goes into the receiver. The power at the receiver generally comes from the Electronic Speed Controller (ESC). An ESC usually has what's called a Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC) built into it. The BEC's job is to provide a regulated 6 volts (usually 6 volts, sometimes 5 volts). So, even though your rig is powered by a 3S battery you should find 6 volts coming out of the receiver.

Does that explanation help?

Ok I gotta quick question and don't have time reading through all 11 pages to find the answer hahahaha.

1: this works with the RC4WD Warn winch correct? I see someone answered yes but I just want to double check.
2: will this work with the Spektrum DX4C 4 channel controller with the SRS4210 receiver?
3: rpphobby is sold out of these, if the answers to 1 and 2 are yes, can I purchase from you?

Thanks for the answers.

All three answers are YES.
Send me a PM and I will set you up.

Just finished mine up. I had a heyok controller from a 3racing winch, cut connector and soldered to motor. Good to go! Now to build a truck for it to go in!

Re: No Drift Winch Controller! (using 3 position transmitter channel) - Part No. 3PW

Just installed one of these, works awesome! Except once in a great while it spits out some live. Not even a 1/8th inch and about 4-5 times in a hour.

The setup is on a dx4s, a 3racing winch with the LURC freespool and upgraded motor.

Good to read that you got it working.

It does that when the transmitter tells it to.

The Spektrum transmitters glitch now and then.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't to worried, just making sure. Think I'm going to be getting your light controller soon. Just figuring out what I want.

I know this is an old thread but I was trying to get my winch installed and everyone said to go hey ok. This thread pulled up when I searched and I read through it but my comprehension is not what it used to be. when Folks buy the rc4wd winch they just bypass it and use a servo as the winch so the one on the bumper is just there for looks? what do I need to get that one operational? just buy the remote style one controller? I have a 3 channel tx so that isn't a problem.
Thanks

Hi,

I think you are asking if you can use this controller to operate your scale winch. The answer is Yes. As long as the winch is still working, this controller will make it go. Another thing to consider is that this type of controller will take a maximum of 6 volts.

If you would like to place an order, please send me a PM.

Thanks
Al

Ok so I have a heyok controller. How sensitive are they to voltage? What is the highest I can go safely with this product?

Don't go over six volts with this one.
