NK's V1 Bomber Build

I still think you should look into the holmes hobbies puller pro L. It'll have more grunt then the tekin. Though the tekin is a very nice motor, and will be enough motor for you. Cheapest option now is to try the caslte 3800kv on 3s. Might be enough for you. In one of my rock bouncers, I'm running the 1410 3800kv on 4s drone batteries. Little 1600mah lihv 100c ones. Light and last about 45 minutes. I also installed much shorter and larger wires on the motor. The stock motor wires were actually heating up more then the motor. But I still say you'll have best results with the puller pro L motors. They make a 6000kv made for racing on 2s, and the 4100 for 2 or 3s. My favorite motor is the 3500kv motor. Its a beast.

It's definitely between the 4200 Tekin or a Holmes, just need to find one in stock at this point.

I think I found the limit of a Tekin 3100 on 2S.

Even with bumping up the pinion by 4 teeth I did not gain real any top end.

Haven't run on 3S yet

You’re running the Rock version of the 3100.
I have a 31004x4HD and it’s a monster on 3s, quite solid on 2s, BUT I run 3s.
I suspect it’s a totally different motor than yours, If I remember it’s a 550 can. Mine is in a 2.2Yeti based Raptor with a two speed, actually too fast to control on rocks.

I think I may look for a Pro4HD in the 4300kv, a Roc412HD in the 4200

Or a HH Puller of some kind

I'm very impressed with the roc412HD, after running back to back against the castle 3800 it definitely feels smoother and sounds like it is as well.

I've got 2 options, invest in 3S cells or buy a 4300/4200 and stick with my 2s batteries.

No race today, just burnt a battery at the track.

I'm repeatedly losing my passenger front wheel nut, I put loctite on it, and a second but to act as a jam nut, and it still loosened up.

Bought some new hex nuts that are hideous but should work for now

Didn't run on the course in the photo but this is the large track at NW Hobbies

New hardware is in, luckily you can't see the blue at all.

Red/permanent loctite should help as well.

If I need to I guess there's no harm in adding another nut atop the first one to act as a jam nut

Drained a 2s with no issues, fun to run In the leaves until it diffs out, rolls a lot less though!

Keeping a close eye on motor and ESC temps but I haven't seen the motor above 108 and the esc above 95, still running a 21t pinion and 56t spur

About 65 degrees out though

I was liking this build. I have a couple well built rock bouncers that are now my most run rigs. I am curious as to your next build, and looking forward to the build thread.

I'm hoping I can keep it, depends on what sells first!
