New SSD SCX10 axle housings

I would think that stock tranny and skid configuration would be best with these. That's what I'm going to run.

Yea.......... No.

Works fine if you are running a zero timing brushed motor. If you are running sensored brushless or a brushed motor with advanced timing then its more of a problem.

So what is the best transmission configuration with the flipped ring gear?

Well I think the concern was now that the ring gears are flipped, does that eliminate/minimize torque twist?

So with the stock configuration, you mirror the trans and it helps eliminate torque twist.

Now that the ring gear is flipped, wouldn't keeping the stock nonmirrored configuration then be best?

As for just flipping the motor wires, in brushed motors that would work if you had a 0 timing and still linear throttle/brake curves. However, if you changed the motor timing, throttle curve or any esc settings related to throttle/brake response, it would simply be best to go into your ESC and reverse the motor direction there.

On a brushed motor you just rotate the end bell 180° and reset the timing. All of my motors have timing marks on both sides of the can. A little more work than switching the wires but still pretty simple.
My brushless have all run the right direction... so far.

I un-mirrored my transmission a couple days ago but I have not been able to test it yet. I am expecting the twist to not be as bad as stock (for me at least) since my CMS is on the side which would be twisting up.

SSD, I know it would kill the scale look a bit but some sort of small cover to protect the bottom screws would probably be handy.

got mine in!

I prefer the look of the stock diff cover, but the buttonhead diff cover screws would help a tiny bit versus standard socket heads. Maybe something like this? Keeping it kinda minimalist.

I'm going with stock plastic SSD diff covers, think they'll be durable enough...it takes lots of crawling to wear a hole in stock SCX housings. Who's running the aluminum diff covers?

RPP has them in stock right now just bought a set with some of those bags of small small screws as a filler ...
can't wait going with the Nukizer body...
Next the wheels and tires....thanks SSD for a great product....

so when i get them do I the flip the axles thing that everybody doing...:lmao:
Anyways i'll figure it out when it gets here.....

BOOM!!!!
Second set just ordered!
Thanks RPP!!!
Thanks SSD for making such a sexy and affordable axle housing!!

SSD will you help when the wife finds the package from RPP in my mailbox?

You dont flip anything. The ring/pinion only go in one way. They are just flipped compared to stock.

You will have to change motor direction to fix this. "thumbsup"
