New SSD SCX10 axle housings

Not sure if they are XR mod friendly. I wish they had splined ends on them.

Based on what I see in the pics all that should be required to make it XR mod capable is filing the tab on the ends to act as the splines and remove the raised area where the hardware goes thru. Was easier to file when filing scx10 axle halves and remove the raised portion...but same idea.

I'll definitely be attempting this for at least 1 of my rigs (2 rigs have the xr10 mod already) and will update here and/or the xr10 mod thread. "thumbsup"

I did it that way the first time I did the XR mod but it just wouldn't work for me (probably my fault). The splines got tore up and the screws opened the hole up on the housing and ended up just destroying a housing. After using burly tubes, I've never had an issue.
My C1 uses CVDs so I may have to just use them there...

Oh yeah the beef/burly tubes are a must. Otherwise they'll eat housings like you experienced.

SSD made the tubes pretty thick so I think they will survive without beef tubes as the scx10 stock housings are ridiculously thin.

Really! Holy crap just about 3 hrs ago someone said they had like 103 in stock.
I guess it's a popular item..I'm sure they will have them in stock soon...will just have to put our names on the waiting list unless we can buy them from some other hobby shop...

I placed my order around 5:00 east coast just for kicks checked the status its after 9:00 and BOOM order is all ready shipped!!!! RPP ROCKS!!!!!!

cant wait for them to get here. this will give me incentive to play with my axial again. I hope the scale m2x5mm will work fine on the diff covers and i ordered spools finally

Mine might actually be at my door today if USPS isn't a liar...but just remembered it'll need a signature and no one will be home...damn it

Also, just checked out SSD website and makes me regret not buying the optional diff cover....

This may make me sell my unused curries too lol

It can always be an upgrade later. And someone else might come out with a more scale one.
