New idea thread?

Have VP MOA axles already been mentioned? I was admiring my freshly finished XR10 the other night and just was blown away by how little Axial stuff remained and how much of it was VP now.

Not sure how marketable it would be, but If the axles were less complex as far as machining maybe they could be a lower cost alternative to Berg or VP blinging some XR axles.

I have to admit I would be fascinated to see how VP would approach them engineering wise.

Just something that crossed my mind :)

just ordered my set< cant wait

dont know if this has been said before but... a really scale drivetrain would be awesome... kinda like the one eritex was working on before we got burned by him.

I am slowly gathering up information on this, See if I can do some sketches to see if it would be worth while on this. I have some ideas that might make it feasible. Dont get your hopes up too much, but toss out ideas.

Harley atm, wants me to look into ls based engines LS1,LS3,LS6,LS7, etc

+1 for VP MOA axles. It would be a nice change of pace to START a project with quality parts "thumbsup"

How about an axial center section like a Wraith or your new AX-10 axle housings made of brass (machined or cast) that has a high clearance cut out on the non-ring-gear side like a Dynatrac ProRock 60 (the one on the left):

You, or the end user could tube the housing for the various stock Axial axleshaft lengths with steel half inch tubing. (I am thinking AX-10 short side with a Wraith long side for a narrower offset differential)
You could also make some brass inner knuckles that could be brazed or bolted to the 1/2-inch tube like 1:1 inner knuckles. These inner knuckles could be built to work with Axial aluminum outer knuckles.

1.A scale powertank and regulator along with a valve system for airing up tires (seen the tire valves before but not the CO2 tank and regulator)

2.It would be cool to put faux bolts on your diff covers.

3.As cool as your new axle housings are (just ordered a set), it would be even cooler to design them so the two hex bolts on each end of the axle that attach the link mounts were gone to give an even more scale look.Maybe build up the area more on the back of the axel where the mounts go, tap the holes and run the screws in through the adapters into the housing.

4.Some more axels for SCX10/AX10 that are scale, patterned off the Currie Rock Jocks, Hi 9's, 70's, 60's, and 44's.

5.A scale truss/frame mounted track bar system modeled after Jeep's track bars.

Thats it for now. Just getting into the RC scale seen, but been building 1:1's for years, and have a lot of ideas floating around in the ol noggin :)

Moa axles from hub out is already vp on most bergs y not make everything in between. The machine work on the xr wraith axle housing are perfect do a Moa compete axle

Not sure if this has been mentioned but what about a scx/ax and xr axle hybrid?

Like widen the current scx axle to take xr universals as a drop in

Would fill a nice void between the current widths available

^and this

Revamped incision pro shafty chassis (stronger) with links
New ax10 tranny design ! You will have a pm or Steve explaining it (as only Steve could )
New ax10 over/unders with no slop spools (said previously)

A diff cover like this ^^ in delrin.

I think this would be a good seller ^^

A very strong scale t-case (maybe with adjustable gearing) would be great too.
