My Bomber Build

You could try out Rust-Oleum "painters Touch "2X" UltraCover paint - it's paint and primer in one and says on the can that it bonds to plastic, for indoor or outdoor use - so it should be reasonably durable.

You WILL be touching it up fairly often after big tumbles, though. But - you could just use a silver paint pen for that!

I'm about to build a heavyweight Bomber as well - using a mix of SSD axle housings and some Vanquish parts - and my hard GMade springs just got lost in the damn mail!

ooh there is even a satin aluminum and Aluminum general purpose color choice. Sucks about your springs :/

Ordered an interior set AX31328 from ebay. Cheapest I could find it in stock.
Received my fire extinguisher today along with magnetic body mounts for my drift car
Thinking of mounting it here.

Zip ties will have to do for now until I can disassemble the cage some, to drill screw holes from the other side.

You should have gotten the real Hi-Lift jack from rc4wd.

It's fully fonctional! [emoji33]
I made a video but Haven't had time to put it on YouTube and in my build thread.

I thought this one was semi functional? Maybe I'm wrong, it moves, but maybe it doesn't jack. No big deal.

On to tire foams. With the weight of my bomber with all the upgrades, I was thinking of ordering the CI Double Duece foams, medium for the front, and firm for the rear. I have no experience with any foams other than what my bomber came with. Any insight would be much appreciated. Going to be putting together an entire wheel/tire order here in the next week or two once I decide on what to get.

I'm torn between ordering expensive wheels from lockeduprc or some black Chanquishes.

I always ask Eddie from CI directly.
Send him the approximate weight of the bomber, general intended use and tire size / model.
He will send you his recommendations.

Guess I have to go to the store and buy a bathroom scale

hi-lift jack ordered from amazon as well as the Axial interior set.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LNNMFLO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and a tire strap from club5 racing. I ordered red but kind of regret not getting black or yellow.
Axial - Page 1 - Club 5 Racing

Now I'm gonna need some paint to paint it up.
Think I'll also order a freqeskin interior stickers

Thanks for posting the link for the tire strap! I had a link to a place that carried them from another vendor that quit making them, and I thought I had missed my chance... and these guys have more colors than the other company offered...

I'm 53 and have NEVER owned a scale. I'm in the same boat as you - although I think I'm going to get a smaller scale that you can weigh parts on. There are tons of different ones on Amazon (most stop at 11 lbs), used for the kitchen - this one goes all the way up to 22 lbs (my Bomber will have a lot of metal, worried that it might weigh more than 11) and is less than $17:

Painting the Bomber cage with Rustoleum 2x primer and paint is a go! I did a test on a parts tree and it's a PERFECT match.

First coat down. Another one or two on this side then I will flip and repeat tomorrow. Really amazed at how good the color looks.

ready for assembly tonight when I get off work.
Also ordered the Team KNK 327 piece bomber stainless hardware set.

For anyone curious as to my prep, after disassembly I washed all parts in my sink with dawn dish soap, and dried them. I then went over all the pieces for about an hour total with 400 grit sand paper. Wiped them all down to remove any dust from sanding, and then painted 3 coats on each side with about 20 minutes between coats. This stuff seemed to dry really fast compared to any other spray paints I have ever used. the only thing I masked was the hood and battery hinge mounts.

Bomber went back together last night, man do I wish I had the interior panel so I could have installed it during the assembly. Super happy the way the cage turned out.

I got my jack and window nets today.
The jack is a tad bigger than I was expecting, but I made it work I think. I like jboucher's better, shoulda listened to him and got the RC4WD one.

The bad thing is the window nets don't match. I ordered them from the same vendor on Amazon just quantity 2.
One string is heavier than the other. I'm too OCD to live with it. Going to see if they will send me a third one and hope that it matches one of the there 2.
