Motor shaft to driveshaft adapter (3.2mm to 5mm)

I've seen a couple adapters like these on Amazon and hobby websites, but I'm not sure they are what i need. Does anyone here have experience with them? I'm looking to skip the transmission and use my 4:1 gear reduction unit instead, but it has a motor output shaft and I need to connect it to a driveshaft.

I believe a pinion adapter meant to use a 5mm pinion on an 1/8" shaft is what you need. I want to say mine is from robinson racing

Yup this is what I've got. It will allow you to use any 5mm driveline that uses a set screw.

Awesome, thanks for confirming. Is the 5mm side of that slotted for a set screw or is it just completely round?

It's just slotted.

Sorry, meant the motor side, my bad. So the motor side is slotted on the interior to match the keying of the motor shaft?

Your asking if the inside of the adapter is round or has a flat to line it up with the motor shaft right? It's just a pice of tube with a slot machined off of it.

the same setscrew that goes through the driveshaft head should go through the
hole (or slot) in the adaptor and sit against the motor shaft flat spot.
just be sure the setscrew is long enough. haha

the adapter is just a spacer to fill in the space between the motor shaft
and the inside wall of the driveshaft head.
