MAC FAB buggy build, V3

Sweet! Though it seems odd to go backwards from A-arms, there's always been some strange draw for me to the Kyosho and Tamiya Beetles because of their beam front ends and IRS. Then again, I like leaf springs in a world of coil overs too. I guess the the drive to be different outweighs the drive for higher performance, and I think that's a good thing.

I'm assuming you're going with coil overs, not torsion bars?... torsion bars would definitely be different!

Backwards in a sense, yes. This front end was supposed to go on a class 5 unlimited baja bug chassis I started, but is just too big for the SCORE TT/Baja Rey sized car. Proportions were off, but it needed to be beefy enough for abuse. Then this chassis was sitting there, and it looks more in place. It will be driven more cautious as I really want to shoot FPV video with this car. The cabin in this car is huge. UDR sized car. Yes, it will have coils up front. The model cycled 3", so it should be interesting to see what I can actually get with it.

This one is getting love this weekend, should be a functional roller, hopefully with most of the body as well come sunday. Fab clock starts at 6pm tonight...

A few update pics, almost sits on its own feet, temporary stuff for the rear arms. If I could only find the motor mounts and shaft, bell cranks and diff I want to put into this thing. I should have enough room to make this a rear engine car, with the rear of the cage looking like something from Racer Engineering. Stopped here because its easier to mount all that stuff that I can't find without the cage completed and test drive it than to have cut it up because I can't get my fingers in there.

Need a steering servo, looking at RYFT takeouts. Are the Spektrum pieces any good or go with something else? Looking to go on the cheap end for what its worth. Will probably run a CC 1415 and a Sidewinder for power.

Thanks. I haven't had issues with my rtr Capra, and I just need something to hold the wheels straight at speed, not leveraging rocks. ~$25, what is a better option then?

E revo, losi lst XXL for diffs. Will it be 4wd or 2?

What I have somewhere: E Revo/E Maxx diff because of the big r & p gears, and its narrow. Thunder Tiger motor mount which allow for a Slash 4x output shaft which is relatively short, only requiring a short shaft to connect the diff, for a rear engine application (I hope). 2wd. Running Summit cvd axles. Tierods up off the floor about 1/2" equates to no bump steer. Slowly getting there.......
