Losi Baja Rey 1/10th 4WD RTR desert truck

I know these trucks are selling, I guess there are just a few of us that are really into them. Anyway my #7 body is being painted, i should have it in a month or so and I am almost done with the chassis, I have been make adjustments and improvements to it based on how the tweaks I make to my "daily driver" second truck. I will be posting pictures soon...

Finally finally got some time to finish up the last of the trimming and fitment on the body and got the color shot. Honestly, I swore I would never shoot a florescent color again several bodies back. It didn't take long to remember why. The Flo Orange was laying down like crap. Just super blotchy and then almost kinda "dusty" if that makes sense. That then kinda screwed up the backing white, but I think I managed to save it overall.

I've still got some subtle tweaks to do with trimming here and there, but it's about a wrap.

Added the roof mount antennas and sat dish, as well as the stupid expensive mirrors that JDM found for me. I also did a side exit exhaust at the doors like many of the 1:1's. Spare tires are held down with black, RC4WD tie downs. They get kinda lost on the black tires though, so I may go with red ones.

Decal placement is largely true to one of the RPM team trucks that was campaigned a few seasons ago. I took a little license here and there just to kinda fill out some of the body real-estate.

I'm really pleased with her overall. I may end up doing a Raptor body in Redbull livery as well.

The only problem I can see with it is I hardly want to beat on it after all the time and work that went in to it!

May be time to buy another for a RUNNER. Which reminds me, anyone see the new Arrma Mojave!"thumbsup"

That turned out great! It's almost a shame to hide all your fabrication under a body.

I need to stop procrastinating already and order a new body for mine. In my defense, I haven't been able to run my cars in awhile as I had surgery on my spine recently. I'm still planning a similar color scheme, just need to decide exactly which shade of orange is gonna match my orange Yeti wheels the closest, maybe PS62?

TheLetterJ - I wrestled with what color orange as well. The Flo Orange does look great and is close to many of the RPM trucks I grabbed pics of. Maybe take your beadlock ring when you go get the paint, if that’s what you’re trying to match.

Sweet Baja Rey, my man!

Paint and wheel choice look great.

Front end is particularly wicked looking!

Thanks durok! Hope all is well!"thumbsup" Have not had much, if any time here on the forums this past couple months. New position at work has had me swamped.

Seeing some light at the end of the tunnel though. To that end, I've been itching to put a signature on another rig. Being as the Baja Rey is my only go-fast at the moment, I ordered up an Associated Trophy Rat today. I've got some cool ideas kickin around in my head!:ror:

Nicest baja rey i have ever seen on the interwebs. Would be the coolest if it was dirty.

I love the exhaust tips and thier placement.

CM9000 - Wow! I appreciate that! She’ll be gett’n dirty soon enough. I’ve got a few more tweaks to do with the body, number stickers, etc. I also wanted to just enjoy how brand spank’n clean she is for a few days! Thanks again for the positive reviews everyone!

Somethin about gettin them mudflaps dirty and the boddy getting dusty makes them look the part lol. (I used losi mudflaps cant remember the part number)

Have fun with it man. Its what the rey is all about.

Thanks, but the cage is not johnsonfabco - He do some nice work though.

I found the antennas in the RC4WD scale accessories section."thumbsup"

How well did you do against the IFS SC trucks?

I wish there was a solid axle series near me. I think it would be a total hoot!:lmao:

I was never last, but I never took first in points.
