Losi Baja Rey 1/10th 4WD RTR desert truck

Sigh, the patent is for the planetary gearset mounted on the pinion shaft of the axle. It is there to reduce torque flex. It explained over in the thread in the chit chat section. It’s actually a pretty cool idea.

Geez dude - Sorry I'm not up to speed with every single aspect of a truck released the day before yesterday and a working knowledge of patent law.

I'm not going to lie, going back to look at the SBR and it looks really bad in comparison to the traxxas. Sure, looks aren't everything and we will see how they both perform but seriously, it's going to be for bashing so, i don't see how the SBR ever wins unless it's the more bulletproof of the two.

Yeah traxxas took their time developing this one and I can’t get over the shocks and just how scale everything is, Losi just super sized the Baja rey and doesn’t appear to have changed much other then the body and aluminum shocks and rear links.

Its pretty easy, if you read the fine print of the UDR, Traxxas is attempting to patent the 4 link suspension setup - no shit, have a look, it's patent pending - so soon you'll only be able to buy one truck and one truck only

Wow traxxas is continuing to try and make ever other rc company non existent. They’ve already sued arrma and vaterra over having cantilever shocks, and hpi for having a waterproof rx box..... all of the other companies need to join together and somehow put traxxas in its place before they completely take over

anyone used the hot racing drive shaft. how is it? Its half the price of original stock part, cant get this driveshaft pinscrew out after trying many many things and even getting a more powerful soldering iron... edit: can you buy the outdrive on the end (or whatever the thing on the end is)?

Unfortunately you can not buy just the end pieces for the driveshaft, so you will have to buy the entire thing. You may also need to get the outdrives for the transmission as well

Got the new "basher body" painted up. No "sponsor" theme or anything, just a fairly simple spray job. I didn't want to put a ton of effort and time in to this one since it's going to be the main body I thrash around with. Not even going to trim the rear fenders for the dual spare set-up. She didn't turn out too bad considering I prepped, masked, sprayed and decal'd her in about 7 hours. (Decals were not on yet for this pic). The first can of silver I had pretty much blew up though and was spraying out of the top of the nozzle which left some heavy drip marks inside the body before I could catch it. They're only marginally visible from the outside though.

I also decided to put her on "bags!":lmao:

ok im going to try to fill my center diff when i replace the front bulkhead and front A arms

  :ror:

of course ill use the exploded for help. But am i right in saying its not 100% accurate? Like in the rear diff it showed the ring on the wrong side.

edit: either way im not doing it anymore because the opposite side universal to the center diff seems like it got stripped with a tiny amount of force, my car was out of action for a month already due to the opposite being stripped and its gonna give me intense trauma, so i guess i wont be filling the center diff for now at least...

it doesn't take longer than 2 hrs to do with hand drivers. cleaning all the oil out of the diff cup though.. might wanna use some electrical contact cleaner since brake clean harms plastics.

My motor finally gave it up after countless runs. I was pretty impressed with the abuse it took. Has anybody else tried one of theses motors? I saw a review of one that was put in a rock rey and the thing ripped and it was 3600 kv, my lhs only had 4000kv.

I've ran the same motor in a Yeti Score with a Hobbywing MAX10 ESC and was very happy with it. It seemed to cog less than a stock Baja Rey.

Nice, that’s what I was hoping. There’s not much info out there on motor reviews for this truck other then stock. I was more then happy with the stock one but wanted to try something different.
