you can tell who just got into rc because of the crawlers by the sae vs met. issue. I would think that anyone who has been in the hobby and had more than one car would have no problem. One thing that is getting a little over done is not kits just race rollers, or am I the only one here that enjoys putting the things together?
You can not tell who just got into rc by the sae vs metric issue. That's absurd. YOU might think that, but it doesn't make it true. What if someone has "been in the hobby" and had dozens of cars and they were all metric? Someone having more than one car (especially crawlers) makes them less likely to want a standard hardware car since they probably already have the metric tools, spare screws, taps & dies, etc. Who wants to carry around double? Who wants to buy essentially the same stuff that's just a little different in size? If you were to say, "...and had more than one car, at least one of which is/was a 1/10 scale - more specifically an associated or losi, would have no problem," it might be a little easier to understand your viewpoint. My main point is why make it any harder than it has to be for your target audience to adopt your product? Plus, it's been my experience that standard hardware isn't as consistent as the metric stuff. Doesn't fit the driver as well, and doesn't fit as snugly into the threaded piece.
Rich has already addressed this and I commend him for standing up and taking ownership of his decision. Doesn't mean I agree with it

But I respect his honesty. Normally there's a lot of hemming, hawing, and fingerpointing. It's refreshing to see someone with a fairly empty bag of excuses.
I can understand the manufacturers wanting to make rollers. First, it allows the uninitiated an easier path to rc madness - much less intimidating. It probably cuts down on warranty issues and phone support costs too. The first car I get of a certain model, I prefer to build so that I can get a feel for the whole thing. After that, give me the roller. I want to drive, not wrench (with my metric tools

).
Sorry for the sidetrack, back to the Losi Roller
