Land Rover Discovery I

Home! Took it out for a quick rip without the interior panel in just for kicks. Will be swapping the 55T out for a 35T ASAP. Need some more OOOMPH!

I'm not 100% but I believe my new RJ2 sliders for my JK will be a direct fit! May need to order another set!!

Got some fun pics while down working on the scaler course at the shop.

Thinking I may just use a Proline rack and light bar up top as the metal rack I had begun to fab a while back is heavy and I'd rather keep this rig on it's tires. It will be a tiny bit narrow but should look good when I pop some sand ladders and a High Lift up there.

maybe LOL:roll:

Well you have one of two correctly painted RC Camel Trophy rigs...period  Everyone else has the wrong stuff...the Tamiya Camel is too bright. This is the actual paint code"thumbsup"

That was the first one I got going on and then I just got sidetracked.

yup i read up on your threads when i first got the body from dean and saw where this one was correct color, im trying to get it complete and run it in our camel trophy this sat still need to put interior in it, servo winch in it and a few other odds and ends ron

I'm excited to get a bit more work into it. The current setup came about as one of those typical thrashes to finish the truck up the night before an event and get it drive able. Hence the dingo interior put into duty. It was such a long project (for me) that I was a bit burned out after and just left it as is until it went to Brandon.

Things like door handles and finishing up the windows are on my list. The rack and a brushbar are in the queue as well. I want this to be a Wheeler so it wont be concourse.

i was messing around last night and put a proline interior out of a xj in it,and it fit in the shell almost perfect, works out great for running a scx running gear, im liking your rack and bar ive got a boat load of light buckets. might mess around afte my camel trophy challenge tommorrow and work on a bar Ron

Good luck today!

Well, since we got the rack and lights up there I figured it was about time to get working on the bumper again. The RC Modelex Defender ARB would work great, but I am tight on funds :) Needed SOMETHING to affix my limbrisers to!
Short term plan was to bend up a brush bar for the current bumper that was on there and weld it on.

Check.

I fabricated two uprights and welded those on as well.

I sanded it a bit and used some putty to smooth things out (I'd used some filler on the original bumper and had sanded it off with the paint where I was welding on the new parts.)

Everything is drying now and I'm hoping to have paint on it today.

Not perfect, but stout as hell :)

I'm in love with your bumper. Looks like the bumper ARB should have made. Nice and slim unlike that bulky junk they sell for the 1:1's. That's pretty much what I want to build for my 1:1 Classic. Keep it up!"thumbsup"
