Krazed Builds Pneuma 2.2S Chassis - Release! We've done quite a bit of testing and taken all the notes and feed back we have gotten over the years and put them into our next generation of sporty chassis. All the success from our Gen2 and our early portal design chassis come together in this version.

Pneuma - (in Stoic thought) the vital spirit, soul, or creative force of a person.
Designed with the intention of bringing the next level of 2.2S chassis design to builders. We have gone through some intense design time, optimized geometry to balance both standard and portal axles and cosmetics that appeal to everyone. We believe we have hit all our goals of this project.

Many have followed from the CAD concept pictures we posted months back and through all the revisions we have tried. Some may have noticed cosmetics changed a bit from the original and some may have noticed geometry changes through various pictures. All these changes have been done and tested on our vary own truck and a few early releases our team drivers have gotten.

Heres some break down of info, changes and options available for everyone. As well as hopefully some questions people may have.

First question Im sure is 'Will regular (meaning non portal) axles work on this?'
Yes. Although the truck was designed around portal, primarily Capra axles, we made sure to balance everything out for those successful non portal axles. Even though this was a ground up redesign we made sure to use the same geometry math and ideas we've used in in all our chassis.

Are portal axles the best?
We truly believe they are the next level in 2.2S rigs. From suspension geometry to clearance, the Pneuma will really benefit you the best on portals. With out going into descriptive design info Portal axles have so many benefits we havent even explored yet.

What link lengths work on the Pneuma?
Heres our personal rigs link mesurements:
Front Lower Links - 132mm eye to eye
Front Upper Links - 108mm eye to eye
Rear Lower Links - 138mm eye to eye
Rear Upper Links - 115mm eye to eye

What transmissions fit?
We kept in mind the various transmissions out there and made sure we kept the chassis versatile. We have test fitted the Element RC transmission, the SCX/Axial trans and run the Dlux Hamburg on ours. All skids will come standard with no transmission holes drilled, this is something you will have to do yourself.
We do offer a skid available as an add on for the Dlux Hamburg. It will have the holes in it to mount either a motor forward or rearward and also come with a .80 spacer to help clear the motor from lower links.

What are the skids made of?
All our skids are 3D printed standard on our kits. We switched over to this a few years ago on our Gen2 and have a trustful belief in them working. We use top grade PETG and all holes are tapped prior to you getting them.

What are the color options?
Using printed skids we are able to help add those personal touches to drivers trucks. We carry Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Black, Purple and Green. We have actually done our homework in getting the best possible match to colors you get from Shapeways should you get various parts from them. Colors are an add on option at a small price addition at time of ordering. If you want a colored skid or the colored edging added you can simply check the box on the order page and then select your color otherwise they will come with the standard black PETG skid.

Color edging?
We have added the option to accent the edge of your carbon fiber with a 3d printed color strip. This is a thin strip of a color choice we print and add before shipping. Note though, this is not changeable after done. It is CA'd in place around the outer edge but not the bottom skid area to allow for clearance. It can be easily removed with a razor blade and light sanding.

How do I mount a body?
This we left up to the drivers. There are many options and ways to mount a body, even simple nylon screws and nuts you can purchase at a local hardware store.
We do however offer mounts through our Shapeways store. These are made specifically for the Pneuma and use a simple 3mm screw to mount the body. They come in color choices and use the existing cross brace hardware to secure them. They are not structurally needed, only allow a way to mount a simple body like the Jconcepts Mini E-Revo body or other similar flat hood and truck type bodies.

Hopefully we have touched a few questions you may have about this new chassis. If we havent then do not hesitate to ask us either here, through Messenger or through RCCrawler.

Haven’t comp’d since this Sporty class was just starting:shock: I like the geometry and looking forward to getting it on the rocks8)
Gonna need to read how the rules have changed:mrgreen:
