Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

So what links would I use with this chassis that would work as well as in the video? Seems like just another chassis without his custom links.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Make your own from 8/32 allthread for mockup. Get either blank ti rod or lundsford rock grinder links and bend to match your mock ups.

If you lack skills or tools, pm Erik Dlux, he will make ti links to match your samples.

Thanks, I was looking for something that's already been developed and proven like your setup. The search continues...

Chaotic Crawlers makes a pre-made Ti link set that is currently available. KrawlFreak has hinted that VP "may" produce a Ti link set made to his specific specs, but not ETA though.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

I got the CC links for mine, just got it built last night, haven't ran it yet except in the basement. The front links seem good, no hitting or binding. I tried setting up the rears like Krawl's, running the lower link inside next to the shock mount but with these links that does NOT work. There just a bit to long and to much bend, they get in the way of the upper links and chassis.

I moved them down to there stock position and they are a lot better. Still tight with upper links and chassis when articulating the rear but with the 3.5 shock, your pretty much fully compressed when the links and chassis start to meet. Now I'm not sure how everyone is getting to 4lbs or under, I run all VP stuff on the axles to include the toppers, I de-cased my FXR's, RX and BEC, ran 20ga wire to clean everything up and save weight, I do run a 7980 servo, which is a bit bigger and probably heavier. I have the VP knuckle weights on it with no rings right now and DLUX wheels currently with Donas and the older CI double deuce foams.

I do have the front bias but my weight right now with a GENS 450 3 cell is sitting at 5.1 lbs. I can't imagine shedding another pound but obviously you guys are doing it. I realistically figured if I can get it as close to 5lbs as possible I'd be happy!! I'm fairly new to this sport and my driving skills,,,well,,,lets just say I'm a work in progress!! So I figure a little heavier for me may benefit me more then a seasoned driver. I would have liked to get below 5lbs a bit but not quite sure I can without getting all crazy Mad Scientist Dr. Frankenstein on my stuff!!!!:lmao: So I will start here and see how it goes. I do love the chassis and being my previous setup was just over 6lbs, this seems like one of these little swim models!!!!!

Thanks to all the build threads on here and people handing out advise, I REALLY appreciate this source of information and love learning all the tricks of the trade!!

Thanks

Mike

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Yep, those chaotic links look really good! Thanks for the tip!

Holding out for the ones we have coming will be the best bet....

They will out do the competition in every aspect and then some!

And then a little more!

They will be worth the wait.

Is there really a difference between a Berg and an xr10 chassis really? When the xr first came out I had a moonbuggy on v2 bergs and put my xr axles on it and it worked just as good except the axles kept breaking like normal but, the chassis worked.

Well, berg axles typically have more vertical link separation. I know CDW had ompensated by additing an additional front upper link position on the XR version of the RT. it was added below the 3 available on the the berg version.
