Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

O and don't use Ti, Al, Stainless, Mild Steel, All thread, Carbon, and don't even think about using Delrin...they better be made from unobtanium

Rob_b already has the patent on unobtainum products.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Ok...next material in line would be the nearly unobtainable unobtanium :flipoff:

That's pretty rare stuff.

And what happens to this Jacobflyin's Hall build? I saw it the other day but can't fond it no more.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Hello,

~3.4 :shock: and no plastic, what did you do? Helium filling?

BTW, i will run two front axles. That means a bit longer rear links and a bit higher mounting position for the rear shocks and upper links. What do you think about that, will it make a big difference? I would like to run my beloved Traxxas shocks (same lenght then the SCX) and the higher mounting point at the axle will lift the rear chassis also. Can't tell you now, overseas shipping sucks sometimes, i'm still waiting (that's not on the YTC side)

Greetings Frank

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

That's not bragging. That's just boasting.

Hmm... Something showed in the mail today.

oops wrong picture...to much beer....that wasnt supposed to be shown yet:twisted: here is the right one.

i milled the inside of the vanquish tops....i prolly copied that from someone too:lmao:

as for the links in the rear with the front housing.

they will need to be a little longer but the shock and chassis height should be similiar. i have been running my lowers in the top shock mounting position since the beginning with the xr axle wich is similar to the front housing.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Was Thinking about the same Jeremy just removed my VP upper axle for milling. but would be intressted how much savings are possible??

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Is that a spacer between the upper link mount and the top axle case? I know there is one directly between the link mount itself and the base of the link mount, but it looks like there is another between the main body of the upper link base and the axle top.

As far as I can see there's only 2 thin spacers under the top link mount and its base.

I think what throws you off is the washers for the screws.
Looks like countersunk washers to me "thumbsup"

You are correct! Thanks for pointing that out, that's why I asked. "thumbsup"

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

That's not true.

gotta love rob b"thumbsup"

No you don't, I'm kind of an ass hole.

Helium filling?

That's what I was thinking.

Why do I get the feeling that the pictures you post are always 3-4 weeks old? Slow internet connection?

----------

On a side note, I started Y-Towning my wheels this morning. To keep the RCC patent attorneys off my ass I used 2.5mm hardware and 4.20 bars. Finished wheel came in at .8oz with a 725 hub (all aluminum). I must have missed it but what's the average weight of your new designs?

there is not alot in there to do but every gram counts...i am gonna do some external milling too...

i dont think your an asshole, just a brilliant elitist:lmao:

the wheels range .45oz to .65 oz iirc. the hubs are the determine factor for overall weight but i think you are in the ball park.

the pics.....old......code word: shhhhhhh!

Any word on when links will be available?

I just spent a few hours tweaking, turning, chopping, cutting, fighting, cussing and yelling, but finally got my BJ4 links to fit and function. But damn, I want plug and play! lol!
:)

So i dont want to sound like a jerk but i was just wondering. Now this is just a question to help me understand the weight loss better.

Is everyone cutting off weight to improve performance or is it just bragging rights for the lightest rig?

I realize that this chassis performs best and was designed for the 4lb range. But does taking off a couple of grams make that much of a difference?

doesn't sound near as jerkish as most comments in my thread:lmao:

it's not about a gram here or there but the cumulative total....at this point it is extreme and mostly bragging rights, that is until extremely light cars start taking the top spots.

there are already sub 5 pounders putting it down and now sub 4 is the next level...

there has been shift in the crawler world with people seeing what a really light car is capable of.

for me it is really just a challenge....

i am a full on diet coke drinking anorexia patient:lmao:

:lmao:Gotcha, thanks for replying. I really like the way the newer rigs are looking but always wondered if it was overboard. And from what i am getting is... It is but it isnt at the same time:shock::shock:
