Re: Krawl's wheels

a wheel is a wheel....there is no special way about it..

there are nothing wrong with d-lux's wheels. but less parts are less weight straight forward.

if you want the lightest wheel with an adjustable hub and are not worried weather or not its a beadlock, then these are for you....if not go with one of the many the other routes"thumbsup"

these will use 3mm hardware and customers will be able to choose betwen my 4bar, 5 bar, and 6 bar designs. (bars =standoffs)

there will be multiple designs in each "bar" count and best of all they will be made in house like all my products so availability will be "always"

i dont do "runs" like most vendors....i am constantly running:twisted:

we will see how many think the way i do but i can say from the interest shown there are quite a few:shock:

everyone was happy with a five pound car for a while..... and now they are not.

with the weight people are trying to get to these days, the wheels are one of the easiest ways to get rid of it and not sacrifice axle strength, and most importantly bias.

my car is 4.3 lbs with all the vanquish heavy duty shizz!

i personally have a different set of wheels for each set of tires and foam setups so a beadlock is not all that important to me.

as far as glue...you all trust the glue to hold your cut n shuts together.

i have been runnung glue on tires on my super for a few years now and it doesnt seem to hurt my performance:ror:

So do you remember 4Xford posting this.

So I had been hassling Krawl about making me some wheel faces so that I can hack up some SLW's and have a flat faced beadlocked wheel. However, he wanted to go lighter, and convinced me hacking up a perfectly good set of wheels was a bad idea.

So, we are running aluminum standoffs between two carbon rings. Just to clear a few things up:

THESE ARE NOT BEADLOCKS, THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE, THEY WERE MADE FOR FUN!!!

Krawl has been beating on his with no issues so far. We are used to gluing super tires so we thought we would try it on 2.2's.

End Quote.

For some one that claims to be a pioneer of this hobby and likes to complain about other companies that make something that looks a bit like your design, your wheels look and work alot like others O and your cab topper for the 3.5 looks like some ones CDW topper.

Just Saying 8)

O and you Brag about 4.3 lbs with VP stuff and your state of the art carbon fiber crap, Here is a pic of mine 4.1 with every part VP makes and a one Piece chassis and Dlux wheels.

I am done said what I have to say but watch what you complain about when you do the same thing to others.

Have a great day and good luck comping :flipoff:

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Jacob they weren't for sale when I posted that, and for sometime after. I did not say they are not for sale forever. You have to test products before selling them to people.

The wheels being a copy seem like a stretch. And Erik wasn't the first with his idea, eritex and sven made them first. So Jeremy and Erik copied them if you want to give credit where its due.

And I'll just leave the copying of Jake's car comment alone.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Now now, no need for arguements. Common everyone, When somebody makes their own chassis or a new chassis comes out, its most likely to have similar traits to others. There is only so many ways to make one.

And same thing with rims. If someone is going to make thier own rims, chances are that they will be similar in one way or another.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

These look great Jeremy! How thick are the faces going to be? What kind of price are you thinking. Keep up the great work, and put me down for a set. Thanks Ty

Hey Ty, the faces are 1/16". I'll let Jeremy discuss the pricing, I don't think its allowed in build threads. But from what I've heard they should be very competitively priced. "thumbsup"

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

Thanks and I forgot about the price thing. Thanks again.

Yes Jeremy this is a hall style chassis made from lexan that john has been bending this type this way for about 2 years now. I pm'd you for advice on bending a delrin one. So to answer your question no we did not ask you how to bend the one Jake posted in this thread.

Re: Krawl's "SECRET AGENT"

O and don't use Ti, Al, Stainless, Mild Steel, All thread, Carbon, and don't even think about using Delrin...they better be made from unobtanium

My mistake and sorry to bring Mr hall into this..

I guess the better thing would have been to just tell Jacob to pound sand with his un-warranted insults.

If I remember correctly there is no one making carbon fiber wheels when this project started. If I also remember correctly I never made any so called claims of being the first, second or even third to use this style.

All I claimed was they were the lightest.
