JimK's Random Tiny Truck Adventures

Thanks for checking in Jim. I'm glad you enjoy the pics and the commentary. :)

Always following along in the background Jim "thumbsup"

As a newbie to the hobby ... I tend to lurk and read more :ror:

I got out on the trails today after work. My buddy Chris and I headed over to Black Oaks to run the trails there. He doesn't have any rc trucks anymore so I let him wheel my Cherokee and I drove my Marksman.

A fun little bridge crossing along the way.

Chris taking a different route down the embankment. Ended up rolling down but landed rubber side down at least.

A pretty shot of the setting sun shining on the water.

The Cherokee appears to have lost a headlight on the tumble down the riverbank.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge between Windsor and Detroit is a little closer to meeting in the middle since the last time I was down here.

The sun was starting to set pretty quick so we started making our way back to the parking lot exploring some trails we hadn't been on before.

We found a couple small rock gardens to play on along the way.

By the time we got back to the parking lot the sun has set completely and the lot was empty except for our two vehicles. We chatted about our adventure for a bit over a couple parking lot beers and then went on our way home. A good time for sure. :)

Some nice shots as always Jim, they still hoping for 2025 for the bridge opening?

Thanks Jim. As far as I know they are still on target for a 2025 opening. The customs plaza area is in progress on the Canadian side and seems to be moving along pretty fast. Only time will tell though.

I'm the exact opposite...:ror:
I take so many pictures it's ridiculous. I don't end up posting all of them or I'd be at it all night. :???:

It's a beautiful sunny day here in my neck of the woods and Blondie decided she wanted to take her Blazer out for a little trail run.

Likin' the looks of the new steelies. Just gotta pop a battery in and we're ready to roll.

And off down the Greenway we go heading for the trails in the woods.

Someone took the little bridge down again and used it to walk on in the muddy trail.

We went down the bank to check out the edge of the marshy area. Just a couple weeks ago I was driving out on the ice here.

Back up on the main trail and Blondie handled this log crossing with no problems.

The 2x3 bridge was still in place so up and over we went.

I piled a few logs on each side of the big downfall and that made it quite drivable in both directions. "thumbsup"

We made it back to the Greenway and the exit of the trail was under water. Blondie started whining about getting her Blazer and her hair all wet and muddy so we decided to turn around and backtrack to a different exit.

Not long after turning around we lost steering on the Blazer. I rolled her over to discover that the steering link had come undone....luckily the screw was still there. I didn't have any tools with me so I snugged it up finger tight and off we went. It came out one more time on the trip back to the car and again I snugged it back up by hand and off we went.

The return trip over the 2x3 bridge was not without issue.

A short way down the trail and Blondie noticed her driver side mirror had left the chat!

I took a quick walk back to the scene of the bridge rollover and sure enough it was laying on the ground there. Sadly it had broken off....I knew these mirrors would be pretty fragile when I built this rig.

We made it back to a different trail exit to the Greenway and this one was nice and dry. "thumbsup"

A happy little side story.

A couple weeks ago I was out on this trail with my friend Chris. I was driving the Cherokee and he was wheeling my Gladiator. When we got back to the house I noticed that one of the rear tow shackles on the Gladiator had fallen off and I figured it was gone forever and never to be seen again.

8915c912abb1386ecd5d04bb3b792bfc.jpg

Well as luck would have it I just happened to spot it laying on the trail when I bent over to pick up the pieces of the wooden bridge that had been taken apart. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack and for the pin to be laying there a couple inches away....that's some serious luck there folks. I should stop and buy a lottery ticket on the way to work today!!! :ror:

Looks like a good time out on the trails and the perfect February day to take the rigs out.

Nice find out on the trail. Luckily the shackle didn't get stepped on and pushed down in the mud.

One very cool looking Blazer, shame about the mirror. To find the mirror and then the shackle ... damn sure I woulda been off for a lottery card lol
