Well, I thought I'd start a thread about my random tiny truck adventures. A place to share some of my outings with friends and family with various trail trucks, big and small. Nothing out of the ordinary is likely to happen here but hopefully there will be lots of pictures and a few adventures that you will find enjoyable.

For starters I made a few wooden obstacles out at my trailer on the weekend to use with my small scale trucks. They are easy to store and I can move them all over the deck for a different course every time.

Started with a bunch of scraps and cutt off ends and.....

Once I had these made I scattered them around on my deck and had a little fun with my Gladiator and Bronco.

Having a little fun with the TRX4M Bronco. The grandkids are coming over on Thursday and I think they will have a lot of fun on these new obstacles.

Very nice idea! I tried to talk Mrs. OSRC into letting me build a nice 1/18 course, but that idea went nowhere fast. Some movable and temporary obstacles is a nice alternative!

Beautiful location you have there BTW! :)

Thanks...it's our little summer slice of paradise.

The obstacles are a lot of fun and I can put them in so many different spots that I can always be doing something different with them. When I'm done I just stack them and stash them away till next time. I have a few pieces of wood left that I will probably build a couple more things with.

I took the Blonde in a Blazer out for a little drive today after work. Thunderstorms were predicted to hit the area soon but I was hoping to get a little trail run in and not get soaked like the last time I went out.

I loaded a fresh battery pack, fired up the electronics and we were ready to hit the trail.

The trails I'm running tonight are at a small local forest on the edge of the city called Black Oaks Heritage Park. There's a good mix of hiking and mountain bike trails here....several kilometers of trails. Usually I'd be riding my MTB here with my buddies or son in law but tonight it's tiny truck time. :)

Down the trail and into the forest we go.

Over the big log and further into the forest. This log is pretty challenging for me on my bike but not so much for Blondie and her bright orange Blazer.

Across the bridge and off towards the river is where we're heading.

This park has recently taken over by Parks Canada and is now known as an Urban National Park. New signage has begun to pop up in the park. I find it rather interesting that an agency tasked with preserving this natural forest setting of this park thought it was a good idea to bolt these new signs directly to the trees?? :x

Many of us have worried that they would ban mountain biking in the park as the city has been trying to kick us out for many years. Looks like cycling and tiny trucks have not made the list of forbidden activities yet.

About a half hour in and we reached the shore of the Detroit River. I could sit and watch the big ships go by all day!! :)

We spent some time driving along the waters edge going over stumps, driftwood and blown down trees.

Blondie was a little shaken up after this rollover but neither she or the Blazer were harmed in the accident. :ror:

This is the same log we rolled over on but after a few more attempts we made it up onto it and drove off the end. The wet sandy tires did not have a lot of traction on this particular log.

Here's a shot of the new Gordy Howe International bridge. The cranes are adding a section at a time to each side until they finally meet in the middle. I don't remember when the bridge is supposed to open but they seem to be making pretty steady progress.

Well the sky was getting darker and thunder could be heard off in the distance so we headed back to the Cherokee before it started raining and got Blondie's hair wet. Last thing I needed was to hear her whine all the way home about getting caught in the rain. :lmao:

Blondie decided to get off the beaten path and do a little trail blazing of her own.

Back to the car safe and sound and dry as could be.

My son in law was working yesterday so my daughter brought the grandkids out to the trailer to cook hot dogs over the campfire and have some corn on the cob too. The weather was perfect, sunny with a nice cool breeze off the lake. After they ate my wife and daughter took them up to the pool for a little while. While they were gone I set up a little obstacle course. Once they got back the tiny truck fun began!!

A few shots of the course layout.

Well it wasn't long before the big kids got involved. Colton and Georgia thought my daughter would make a pretty good obstacle and she was all for it.

Then my daughter took a turn at the wheel. She was very impressed with how easy these little rigs handled the obstacles. On a side note my daughter used to come out with me back in my rc racing days and race a Slash in the stock short course division....we used to have a blast racing together.

Then I handed a transmitter to my brother and he spent some time wheeling around the course. Next thing you know he's asking questions like....how much is one of these and where can I get one? I was quick to point him in the right direction.

Great pics, location, and description of a fun-filled family time with R/Cs!

I'm massively jealous of your place, one of my deepest regrets is that when I finished my time in the military I didn't stay in the Great Lakes area.

In the mid-'80s my parents lived at the Selfridge Air National Guard base, on the shore of Lake St. Clair, and I made some great friends in the Detroit area and spent about 6 months there.

They showed me the nightlife in Toronto, as well as Detroit - lots of live shows and excellent restaurants - and we also went to some of the parks, I really had a fantastic time.

Not sure if you're up for an adoption but I'm more than happy to be your 56 year old grandson and the wife says that I'm ready to go to a good home immediately!

Absolutely beautiful getaway digs you've got there and looks like you're having a great summer with the family and the relaxation. Thanks for posting this thread... great pics, trail tales, and humor. Hope you'll post more.

So cool! Such a great setup for the tiny trucks!

Great to see the family involved. I really need to get something like this setup in the backyard for the grandkids.

Thanks for the kind words. My wife and I really enjoy our summer get away spot on the shore of lake Erie. It's only about 20 minutes from home and 25 minutes from where I work so commuting from there isn't too bad.
