jebster's 6x6

Just when I was ready to let mines go , you have given me a reason to keep mine! Awesome build bro and it shows in your work!

That came out very nice, You did a great job."thumbsup" Everybody needs a 6X6

i agree!

All I can say is WOW! Awesome work.

thanks man.

Just when I was ready to let mines go , you have given me a reason to keep mine! Awesome build bro and it shows in your work!

after seeing a number of these rigs out there i was inspired to make one myself. they are unique, which is something i'm looking to do.

:twisted:That is awesome, any issues with the driveshafts?

i haven't really beat on the rig enough to say they will last. if they don't hold up i'll just invest in some punisher (or similar) shafts to beef it up. it may not have ended up that way but i did try to do this without breaking the bank. i have a lot of upgrade potentials if i have failures, such as the driveshafts. still running stock dogbones all around, plastic knuckles on the front and rear axles, stock diff ring/pinions, etc. given you are buying for 3 axles it isn't cheap!!!

Made a couple front bumper skids out of derlin. Just wanted to offer up a little more protection.

Now I'm trying to decide what to put in the bed. I have some random scale stuff laying around (see pic) but I'm open to suggestions. Barrels, a quad???

not lately. working on bulletproofing the driveline now. it hasn't had any issues but I want to make it so it will last.

i am thinking about installing the headlights and some taillights. and i still haven't figured out what to do with the space in the bed yet.

Got a little bored and decided to add some fuel tanks to the rig. Pretty simple. A couple aluminum angle pieces, aluminum tubes with plastic end caps and some zip ties. Should hold up pretty well.

just stumbled onto this. very sick build. came out great

thanks man. it has been a blast. outside of upgrading parts to make it more bulletproof and maybe getting a trailer someday (I think a rc4wd bigdog with my future predator tracked truggy on the back would be awesome "thumbsup") she is ready for the spring time.

Decided to do something with the bed of the truck. A boom with servo winch. Mocked it up with some cardboard. The boom will telescope out to give some additional reach.

More to come.

very nice... curious about the boom at the back...

I put an order in for supplies (rectangular tubing, derlin, etc) so I should be able to start framing it up over the next week. Heyok gave me some directions on how to wire up the winch (awesome guy!) so I should be all set there. I did decide to make a partial top over the hoist motor similar to the previous bed topper. It will give me a place to hang things and mount up some rear lighting. Much more to come.

A little more progress. Got the main boom mounting plates cut along with the slot for the servo to slip in. I decided I wanted the entire hoist assembly to be able to lift out with minimal work. To do that I cut and brazed a steel frame that everything else will mount to. More to go but it is starting to take shape.

Had a little time to work on this. I wanted to do a telescopic boom but couldn't find the right size square tubes so I went with a single tube. Found a small pulley to use for a roller. Also got the electronics laid out. I'll write up some more details on that later. More to go but making progress.

My wife surprised my for fathers day. Got me a gopro hero3! Always thought about getting one but couldn't pull the trigger. So took some time and mounted it up in the cab of the rig fits great. Can't wait to see what the video looks like from the trail.

Had a couple nights in a row to work on the crane and finished it up. Used the 7955tg servo with a custom spool for heavy lifting power. Added a winch line guide to the top of the boom. Made a mount to hold the boom, one all the way down for traveling and a separate one for adjusting the height. Wired it up so it runs off the main pack and he whole assembly can be unplugged. The switches set up for one to control in/out and the other turns on/off/break.
Everything works great. Love how it turned out. Need to make a tow boom to hook to the rear bumper so I can hook up under another rigs front axle to lift it up.
Given the extra weight I'm going to have stiffen up the rear suspension!
Also made up a cage that will provide some cover for the equipment.

And now for the pics.
