Interest in Rally?

I'm liking this body.

It's a 1/10scale tamiya rally car.

Thats a car?

Looks like a SUV to me.

More appropriately would you see one racing in the WRC or Rally America?

My point is that is a Dakar vehicle. I would just like to see the rally class stay as cars. That is the spirit of the class after all.

I agree. "thumbsup"

Crap...I need all the help I can get  Plus I love the way it looks!

Oh well, just thought I'd ask. It will be awhile before I get a car, so I'll just have to get my skill set up with the Trophy Truck until then.

I'm still not driving a Subaru though :flipoff:

Tamiya is talking about the Lancer Evo in the statement you pulled that from. It also compared it to the Subaru STI and talked about how a minimum of 1,000 units were produced. And that it was a Group N car. None of the information in the statement on Tamiya was actually about the Dakar Racing Lancer.

Dakar truck on the left, Lancer on the right. See any similarities? I can't say I do.

Meh, I honestly could care less, I just like stirring the shit.

Taking a bunch of cars out into the field and bashing around racing sounds like a ton of fun to me.

8,000 rules, inclusions and exclusions takes the fun off the table.

You generally do Jason. But for once I think I got you beat.:ror:

While we are talking about Dakar vehicles we can discuss having an additional class for Tamiya Trucks.
So things like the Tourag, Racing Lancer, F-150, Cayenne, etc. Basically a class for TA02s and DF01s have a place.

Only problem I see with it is it is kind of an in between class that may not generate a lot of interest... Unless you guys are into it. Hell I will buy one. I have been thinking about it anyway.

I think that my rs4 truck fits best in this in between class, and could see some interest in the class. I might be able to put a rally car together from some other parts I have, so either way, if I can ever make it to an event I will have something to run.

Like Turtle said, if we get enough guys to show up with some trucks then let's run a "Dakar" or truck Class. I've got the TA02 Hummer I can get running, Jason has a Tamiya F150 somewhere in his used bin. :ror:

I'll get the Hummer running and race it. Why not? If that's the rig you want Juan then get it. "thumbsup"

See any similarities? I can't say I do.

They both have 4 wheels.

And I thought you were an expert on this??

Actually I don't want to run a car that's a totally different class. I'd rather run with everyone else, even though I don't think Todd or Jeff would be scared if I showed up with the Dakar version :ror:
