Got to the house n had a decent size box sittin on the porch. My 79 supercab ford came in today. Now to do some measurin to see wat parts will fit. Hopefully all the trim pieces from the trx4 bronco will match up

Another update...

Got my aluminum trans case in and swapped out. I think it looks good.

Got the smt10 wheels n tires in until i decide wat route im goina go. So i was goofin around with it n the suspension seemed a bit to soft, to me anyway. So i decided, lets do a drop test... Well the shocks done exactly as i had hoped n didnt let it bottom out. But... N i was affraid it was goina happen. I broke one of the lower link mounts on the skid. Lil aggrevatin, but it was bound to happen. I was talkin to my dad on the phone wen it happened n he said, just get a flat piece of aluminum n make a new mount. Good idea dad! So this weekend im goina pick up some aluminum strips n make new mounts.

Im gettin closer to gettin her goin on her own power.

Thank u! Im lookin for 1/10 scale bigfoot decals n cant find them. Idk if they ever had a supercab bigfoot, but this is the only 79 i could find in the closest wb lol. Seems the trx4 bronco grille is to wide, but i think the stampede bigfoot grille will fit. Also goina get the body line trim for the bronco. Its a bit long, but i can cut it to length. Gotta see if i can find tail lights as well.

Im still on the look for a motor, but im really leanin towards the HH revolver. Alot of people have suggested it.

Wen i get this one built, i gotta build one for my rc brother in MO lol. Said hes always wanted a rc bigfoot.

Well i didnt manage to get to store to buy any aluminum to stiffin the skid/link mounts. But i happened to find some flat stock aluminum layin around the house.

So i started to fit the aluminum between the chassis plates n the skid, but it pushed the chassis way out at the bottom. Just so happens the nylock nuts were just the right thickness to space between the chassis n the frame rails.

I was goina use the same skid even though i broke one of the link mount tabs off. But i had another layin around that doesnt have those mounts stickout each corner. So now my lower links bolt straight to the aluminum plates i added. Which they help tremendously for strength for lower links.

I dropped the truck from chest high (im 6') n it soaked it up. I was worried the servo was goina hit the batt tray.

I ended up goin with the tenshock BL 1250kv motor. It says its rated for 3-4s. Also ordered some 4mm female to 6.5mm male extension leads. The motor is supposed to b here fri n the extensions by the 17th. Then i can give her a test run n see how she holds up.

Still have to order the body trim n paint yet. Still lookin for the 1/10 BIGFOOT no1 decals/stickers. Dont really need the extra clear body, but if thats how i gotta go about gettin them lol. Thatd give one of the kids a new body.

I get this one built im goina have to start gatherin parts for another lol, or maybe two. Cant have enuf tiny trucks lol

Got the motor in the mail the other day. Failed to get pics of it lol, but it fits perfectly in the tight quarters. Got the trx4 bronco trim in today n the grille for the stampede bigfoot body. I dont think im goina use the grille, itll stick out way to far. So sticker grille it is. But i got the holes drilled for the trim. Had to cut a few pieces down to fit, but i think theyll look good. Paintin the body now. Ill get pics up soon of the body n trim

I got all the holes drilled n openings for the side markers cut out last nite. Shot some paint to the body, which i think is a bit to dark in my opinion but to late now. Got the side trim put on as well. Had to shorten a few n piece in a couple, but i think the trim came out lookin good. Gotta cut all the decals/stickers today n get them put on there now

Been workin on the decals this evening. I got some a lil of straight, but no biggie. Got some glamour shots for yall lol. The block its sittin on is 6 1/8" Just ordered a different esc, got another HW sc8 wp. I can still run 4s n not have to try n go from 4mm bullets to 6.5mm. So hopefully ill be able to test run her by next weekend. On to the pics... Wat yall think?

I dig it way more than I expected I would. You have me gotten me interested in a monster truck build. The way you use the cage to raise the frame is cool. The old Ford body is a perfect top. Needs a name and perhaps a custom door decal for Pimpin purposes.

I gotta ask though. Will this monster be jumpin cars or what?

Thank u smog! Idk yet lol. Im think probably, but after the first scratches. Im lookin at the Bigfoot decals from the traxxas stampede no1 body, unless someone has another cool suggestion. Goina baby it for awhile. They have the crushed car bodies on ebay for like $12 each i think. Hard to believe how much ive got in this thing lol. Its a fun build n ive been wantin one for awhile now. From the looks of things, im goina have to build a few more lol. My buddy in MO wants one n my kids want one. Cant wait to take her out for a test run!

Thanks max-d! Ive been lookin at the tribute wheels n the bigger 2.6 tires, but i wanna see how she handles before i do. The bkt tires look good on there. I love the old ford body style! I was goin for Bigfoot no 1, but thats the only body i could find that was close to the wb i needed. Like i mentioned to smog, im goina get the traxxas bigfoot no 1 clear body for the decals, unless somebody suggests a cool alternative to a theme

Hey yall! Lil update...

I had her out on her own power sunday n again today. I used the 48p gears i got with a gear set for the OG scx10 trans, not much power. I dont think it even spun a tire lol.

So today i swapped out for the 32p in my scx10 ii. It was a bit faster n got some wheel spin, but still not enough, wont pull the front end off the ground. It sounded like it was screamin wat lil i ran it. I couldnt tell if the slipper was squallin or if it was the motor screamin.

Ive got some 54t 32p spurs n a 15t n 17t pinion on the way. Really think im goina have to go with a different motor to get some speed out of her. At the moment ive got a tenshock RC906 1250kv brushless in it with the HW sc8wp esc out of my p4de. N my p4de will do standin backflips lol. So im guessin the tenshock is my problem, but that gives me a good BL crawler motor...

I also done some movin of the esc n batt tray. Moved the esc up over the front axle n moved the rear batt tray more forward over the center of the chassis. It sits just over the back of the trans. The motor is rated for 3s not 4s, so i only need one batt. Unless i get a different motor that will handle 4s. Before movin everything it was either nose or tail heavy badly.

While out on a test run, one of the shock shafts decided to back itself out of the rodend. Thankfully i found the 2 spings n center perch/spacer, but couldnt find the lower shock cup. But i managed to find somethin to work lol, the plastic slipper bushing that goes in the bearing on the p4de. Fits like a glove...

One i get her runnin right ill try n get a good vid posted up for yall. Until next the next episode, thanks for checkin things out.

Got some pics on a test run today. Tryin out a 17 pinion 50 spur, still no wheelies smh. 3s 5200mah smc batt n traxxas batt.

Is there a differance in BL motors? Is there somethin im missin? The tenshock motor ive got is a RC906 (rock crawler 906). Does that make it a bit slower than other BL motors? Any insight would be very helpful n much appreciated.

As far as the wheelies go, might be geared little too low. What's the top speed? That motor is a low kv for a monster truck on 3s. Could try using 4s if you have one and everything is rated for it. Or maybe the slipper is to loose? Anyways looks nice.

I totally dig this truck! Great running video. Seems pretty peppy for such a low KV. 3200 KV on 3s, and you'll be popping wheelies no problem. But you would have to beef up the drivetrain a bit
