I was searching for some new pinions for it and for some Robinson titanium pinions to try

The gold is the ti and the other is just the steel..

Steel

Titanium

This is why its heavier, the ti one is longer...

Got my RCBros high clearance knuckles on now, then I spent most of today building a BTA for it and moving the servo to prevent it getting stuck on the servo horn.. im hoping what ive come up with will work ok, what do you think?

The top link is alloy but i put heatshrink over it to blacken it, looks rough but will last longer than paint

Cool, how about wear, i've been through 2 fronts and 1 rear of standard pinions, blc regears are holding up great though "thumbsup"

Where'd you get that ti pinion i can't find one, neither can the lhs they told me they don't make them. lol.

Ah too bad my lhs doesn't deal with stormer, now i gotta get a 10 dollar order. lol. Thanks though i was stumped when i couldn't find it on RR's website and none of my lhs distributors sold them. My lhs is cheaper than just about anywhere on the internet. Even a pair boss claws on release i got them for like 45 bucks instead of the 60 i would have spent elsewhere.

I just got off the phone with Robison racing, and those pinion gears have been discontinued for like 15 years. They couldn't believe i found some in stock somewhere, oh also the absolute gears are supposed to be the hardest pinions they have, even better than the ones you have, also those ti pinions are a just a ti coating.

Oh ok thanks for that bit of info, ive seen there hardened pinions but i stayed away thinking its likely to just wear the blc gears instead... these gears are quieter tho i guess they wont last much over the nickel coated pinions (if at all)
If anyone uses the hardened pinions i would be keen to hear if they wear the blc gears?

I made a few changes prior to sundays comp at Cabage Tree, im really happy with how it performed, it was pulling lines i didnt think it would

One of the changes was to remove some weight from the front...

Another was to lower the upper link mounting on the moa to help climbs.. i could of just raised the link on the chassis but i would rather lower that raise weight..
100_7427.jpg

Another major mod was to stop it getting hung up, it often got stuck on the front corner of the chassis.. after some thinking i used one 30mm long grub screw to hold the front links in, this deleted the need for two screws on the corners to hold the links, i then added a couple of screws further back on the chassis to hold it together then took a grinder to the corners

No more getting hung up

Whats your RTR weight?
2760g which is 270g heavier than my lcc rtr... i am running a fair amount of weight in the front of the moa as it just doesnt feel as planted as the lcc but the more time i spend on it and get used to driving an moa i think i'll dial it in more and maybe take some weight out as i did with my lcc:mrgreen:
