This is a snowblower I made for the winter season. Only spent about $20 in materials. Took a lot of hours though. If a 16 year old can build it, you can too.

In Action:

How it's made:

Started with a 260 sized motor and soldered a square (25x25mm) 1/16" thick brass sheet to the brass pinion.

Cut and bent.

Bent up corners for support and soldered.

Auger started as 1/16'' brass sheet.

After many hours on the dremel. Main housing is 22ga steel. Main brass shaft is 3/16" and used one size up for the bearing bushing (far right).

JB Welded to motor to a PVC piece I found at Lowes

Coupler is from a boat, drilled it to proper size.

Chute made from brass sheet.

JB Welded to Blower

More JB Weld...

Mounted

Paint and polish goes a long way. Clear coat went on after Decals.

Hinged mount for the project Jeep. Will be winched raise/lower.

Adjustable plexiglass feet.

Styrene, 6amp switch, and 18ga solid to imitate hydraulic lines or electrical.

Id say looks pretty good!

Thanks for looking! "thumbsup"

Let's see some video of it running and chomping at some snow

Awesome! but why the music soundtrack? I am sure everyone would be far more interested in hearing it work.

This is awesome! Just finished a plow for my 6x6 and was thinking about a new project. I thought about a snow blower in the past but didn't think it would work. Glad you posted up a way to do it.

Question. What are you using to drive the auger? Could you post a pic from that side?

Video is a GoPro with the waterproof back on and the sound is barely audible. Im going to make another video with the sound door one in the daytime, hopefully today.

Thanks for the info. Also, where did you get those labels? Very nice touch.

I used Google images to find the label I wanted, used some Avery brand, sticky, blank, address label sized paper. ("Laser Labels") Then MS Word has a template specifically for printing address labels so uploaded that. Pasted the label images and printed with a regular printer. They look glossy because I used a clear coat over the entire blower. It also waterproofed them and made them more permanent.

I also make scale stick on license plates this way. There is a generator that you can type in what ever you want it to say, choose the state, and Ta-Da! They are a nice touch to any Rig. "thumbsup"

Man you must have been pretty desperate to not shovel the driveway huh? Lol I have to say I'm impressed. Simple design and yet functional, and doing it yourself.... well good for you man. I would have to agree with going with a higher voltage, sounds like it bogs down quite a bit once you get snow in it. Step up the voltage and you'd really move some snow! How many volts are the motors rated for? If we had snow down here in FL I would build one too, maybe put it in front of a Super Duty body? How bad ass would that look!? Very cool man!
