I was kind of hoping for something like this. I ordered the 1450kv classic when I saw it pop up a few weeks back. I saw the 40lb rating and the "8 fold higher torque than a brushed 540" and knew I needed it for my 20lb 8x8, I always thought it deserved a big ole revolver.

It sure is a hefty feeling revolver when spinning it in hand. I'm running it with a Mamba X monster ESC. Low speed control seems great to me, I think the weight of this rig makes for a different start up as it needs all of the power even to creep along. Absolutely zero coging or stepping.

It does great! The drag brake is finally strong enough to allow me to do technical downhill stuff with this Behemoth. Its definitely the loudest of my revolvers though, I think the load from the heavy weight is the cause though I can definitely put up with it for this rig. If I could get my sound kit to work it might be a good combo, whistle plus diesel might work.

Great to hear how well it's working out for ya!

Man, your 8x8 has weathered perfectly - that bumper and the wheels have the perfect patina..."thumbsup"

John’s passion for sexy, high torque motors is sure a boon for all of us. You have a Holmes motor collection yet Durok? I am kinda kidding and kinda serious all at the same time...lol. His motor releases are always fun.

Killer 8x8 Humboldt. You built it and Holmes did arrive. Appears you carved out some magic. You didn’t post this build anywhere by chance? Any video footage?

I did a build thread in the multi axle section, I think there are a few videos in there too.

Nice build man. Good choice using an outrunner, the extra poles we found where stronger than even our 55t. This is back in 2002 pre axial days.

I posted this up in 2017 from a hardrive i found in my closet. Dated crawler for sure, but we knew back then what they where capable of

I have similar plans to use Revolver 540 L Classic with SW4 in UC6 or/and GC4. I have sound module as well and think that it will be turbo (Revolver/SW4) diesel (Sound module) rather than just diesel! :-)

I have the SW4 with a couple of the full size Revolver 1400s and I like them but the SW4 is limited to 3s and the internal BEC is not power full. I also have a couple MambXs but on sensnored brushless motors.

The copper heard I think is limited to 4s has a better internal BEC, but bigger.

The MambaX has the best internal BEC and goes to 6s but is also bigger. It also lets you turn on and of the Drag Brake from the remote.

In fitting one to my TRX4 kit build, I’ll be running it with a Copperhead 10 "thumbsup"

Humbolt, awesome BC8 man! When I first saw this motor I immediately thought Cross 6x6 or 8x8. I don’t have an appropriate rig for this motor, but I’m SO intrigued by it I might pick something up just to give me a reason to get one.

Curb Crawler, I’m really interested in hearing your feedback with this motor in a TRX4. Imagine it’s gonna be a monster!

If you haven't got the Copperhead rethink it. Others and I are having issues with the Copperhead and Castle will not acknowledge it. The issue is it just stalls randomly. You have to unplug and plug it back in to work.

Mine has been in for warranty and datalog set. The datalog shows low voltage for the reason but all the batteries we have used of various sizes are charged. All the batteries work in other setups but Castle says it is the batteries.

Do it mean the esc in general or when teamed up with this motor? I’ve just wired it all up, had a quick drive with it and all seems fine so far

Had my Copperhead for a couple of months now with zero issues, paired with a Holmes Puller Pro 2200 and 1500mah 3s. Ultra smooth and extremely quiet for a Castle esc running a brushless motor. Keeping fingers crossed.

Is there a way to keep up with what holmes is up to without the Facebook? Remember when he used to use this site?

Got mine all wired up in the TRX4, I still need to program the Copperhead, but first impressions are excellent even with the factory tune

It’s a beast of a motor, had my first run with it at the weekend, the power and smoothness is amazing
