New shoes mounted up. Need to wait till my knuckles come in to find out how much they are going to rub the tires.
Got bumpers mounted, wertymade bumper was a bolt on affair. Added some d-rings that I had on the barrage stock bumpers
Front bumper little different had to drill one hole on each side. Before I could mount the bumper I made a cms that also uses the same mounting holes as the bumper.
Made my panhard link shortened a random link I had from a lot I bought a while ago. Great fit and the small diameter just clears the truss at full compression. Maybe slip a piece of paper or two between the link and truss. if it becomes a problem I have room to raise the axle side panhard mount.
Rest of the pics are just testing flex, binding and such.
Having trouble making/finding a intermediate drive shaft. Also need to remake a slider I'm off an 1/8" so the cab isn't sitting square.
Back looking for c-hubs and knuckles. My ordered was refunded after 20 days of purchase and not shipping. I believe I found another set to buy and only $2 more than the China no name stuff.
A few options I have so far is:
1- cut out the whole thing from the aluminum sheet I have and bend it to shape.
2- cut the floor out of the 22ga steel I have and make the sides of the aluminum and bolt them together.
3- I still have that plastic toy truck which had a molded wood floor and make sides out of the aluminum and bolt them to that. That is if the floor fit the dimensions I need.
Sort have a plan for the interior and think a found a intermediate shaft the will work.
3rd option is out. I cut it off the floor of the toy truck and its short I could make it work, but then I would live up to my username. Lol
I might take the easy way out we'll see if its still available after the weekend. If I do get it its 6.4" long and need only 6". So I'll have .4" inch to work with getting things fitting right.
Going to revise my sliders again. Just a small change not going to remake them. Once I pick up material or find the material I thought I had.
Its been hot up here in the PNW. So I haven't been feeling like doing much in the garage. Some cooler weather is coming this weekend so hoping to get out and do some work.
So I went the easy way to get a flatbed and bought something. I picked up a rc4wd tf2 roll bar and going to use the drill plate for the flatbed.
Interior I picked up a GOM interior and the detail parts for that.
Parts I'm also waiting on are c-hubs and knuckles(again), incision #4 hubs, a 45-55mm drive shaft, mini t front springs. Most should be here by the end of the week.
My gom interior pan came in, and almost a perfect fit. width is great but a bit long so need to build a dash for it. Also got the #4 incision hubs.
My roll bar/ flatbed will be here today (ahead of schedule) and the GDS RACING c-hubs and knuckles as well. So I should be able to do my axial conversion on my e10 axle.
Next couple days I should get front mini t springs and dlux number preload cups, gom interior details, the very short driveshaft for trans to t-case.
GOM interior details are in. It includes two race type seats, two shifters, and a race type steering wheel. Good value for around $15 shipped.
Mini t spring came in yesterday. No pre load cups tomorrow or Monday and the slow boat item my intermediate shaft hopefully soon its cleared customs in HK.
Lots of work ahead hopefully I can get time to button everything up. Then can focus on painting everything that needs paint and final assembly. I will get a hw1080 and if I can find a receiver that will work with my stock TX (which is a 3ch). If not pick up a budget Tx with receiver. I feel I'm about 75% done.
My to do list
Mount flatbed
Interior
Mount cab
Upgrade parts in front axle
Paint
And finish gathering electronics.
I got my front axle all finished, moded and axialfied.
Took a bit more work then the rear did but I'm happy with the results. Gained a bunch more steering and weight.
Even with the new hubs I'm still rubbing the knuckles and rod ends. So ill pick up a little wider hex to make up the difference. Maybe some beef patties since they give 2mm.
Also my drive shaft and no pre load cups should be here today as well. Yay more work.
Where to start well my shaft came in and it kinda fits its a bit short. Need to step up to the next size. This one is 45-55mm I'm thinking something in the range of 55-70mm. Need to get it mounted where it should be and measure the difference. Besides that it works like it should.
Then a test run on the bench with stock esc/rx combo. It was ALIVE for a little bit. Also very happy about that with the Frankenstein of parts in this thing.
Got some Dlux spring cups very nice. Running mini t red/medium front and orange/firm rear. So for suspension I'm about 99% done there. Well at least till I get to run it.
OVERTIME
He didn't did he?
Sure I did. Need a little bit more work. Like frame mounts but you get the idea. Also going to space the rear bumper out so its not hidden.
Now the big question. No spare tire or spare tire?
I fiddled around a little the other day and sort set up a new bench since moving. I need to order my last few things that will help sort out everything else.
I still haven't finished this lol. It has been placed on the back burner for a bit as life goes on. When I do get some work on it ill post up and have pics.
