HB Rover Review

everbody seems to like there hb rovers so any advise would be helful. i'm disapointed with mine. i have the white compound. i've tried memory foam and stock ones and different weights from 6 oz to 16oz in the front and no weight to 8 oz in the rear no luck for me. i all so tryed purpel power and simply green cleaner still not much forward bite all so tried them in both directions.

What rig, what set up, what type of surface? I think foam choice is very dependent on weight of rig and some other issues.

Ran mine for the first time today.

CDW Berg
Rover Whites
Stock Foams
Front total weight 12.8oz each
Rear total weight 8.8oz each

On COLD southwest sandstone I felt they hooked up better than claws.

These are my new tires of choice"thumbsup"

banchee, some tires just don't work on some rock. I tried for about a month to get Panthers setup for my area and never got them as good as claws for our rocks.

i have a axial based rig with 4 link in rear and 3 link in the front.shocks are droop in rear and sprong front. as for surface not shore how to describe it but ill try it is a rock with smooth to very fine grit but not slippery. losi claws did well with my set up but i was looking for more ground clearance.

banchee,

In my whites I run HB outers with 1/10th scale Proline buggy rear in the middle for the fronts. In the rear it is solid foam from the Claws. I found out that they will wad up to much if foams r to soft for the rovers.

I just ordered the BLUE rovers. How harder is the compound compared to the white rovers and also the Panthers.

If this ? was already asked, sorry. Did NOT wnat to read through 5 million:lol: pages of posts.

I have just switched to rover whites and love them so far. Still running the stock foams right now but am going to try the new Proline foams.

the softer the foam the more they hook up. yes they wad up and fold over on sidehills. but they hold the line. i run northwestern #5 hibrid in the frount with around 12oz in each frount tire. in the rear stock foam with 7 oz in the rear. i am going to run the same foam in the rear as i run in the frount. love these tires.

Yeah I picked a set of these up and they have been amazing so far. Running the stock foams gives them some collapsable area to form to the rock...very impressed so far. Running whites btw...super sticky

I going to order the whites and proline memorys. Hope they dont fold too much. I will be running 6 1/2 oz. per tire front and 3oz. per tire rear.

I'm running 14oz per wheel in the front and 11oz per wheel in the rear with white compound and stock foams. As mentioned earlier they do fold over on sidehills but they hold the line well. I will be trying the adhesive camper foam mod mentioned earleir. These tires rock with just the stock foam...get them you won't be disappointed.:)

I'm running my Rovers with my custom made 2 stage foams, I wll find out how well they work this weekend at the comp I am going to on Sunday, I'm running 8.5oz in each front wheel and 4.5oz in each rear wheel, here is a pick of my foamos that I fabed up using the stock Rover foam with Proline soft memory foam wrapped around the outside...

Hey Abad!.....I just mounted up a set of blue dot Rovers using your foam set-up......so far I'm very impressed! We'll go head to head on the 1st. ;)
Good luck on Sunday!

My last tires were G8 Hammers and I think the blue compound is really close to the G8. The above mentioned 2 stage foam works well on sidehills and doesn't bunch up too much...plus it rides nice n' high giving more ground clearance. The proline memory on the outside gives just enough to let the lugs do their job. Mee likeeee

I did this same thing with the stock foams and my old proline mems out of my hammers and the tire preformed crazy. Grip everywhere and the truck holds a side hill line so hard the truck will flip over sideways before it starts to lose its line. 1-10 rating is 1561312341237890790! I dont know if i want to try any different foams after seeing how these performed.:badger:
