Guns for under $200

The hex receivers being worth more is news to me.. Mine is a 1936 hex and I believe I payed $130 for it and there were plenty more where that one came from.

I just saw a bunch of Yugo M24/47's at a shop in NH yesterday all marked a little under $200. If you had a little patience and looked around you could have found something a little nicer than the Mosin in your area I'm sure.

"except to take these gangsta a s s pictures of my new piece"

sorry but people who contradict themselves should have it pointed out to them... "thumbsup"
I took the pics pretty much right after I unpacked it. Didn't even know it had a lock until later on

come down and shoot with me im just south of daytona and hold on tight your shoulder is going to hate you
way to far just to shoot man. Sorry

I take back what I said about them being more valuable. I beleive they are just made from a higher quality material and so they can cost more. I'm sure I could have waited and got something a little better but I'm happy the what I got. Overall I've only ever heard good things about it except for the kick it gives. If it gets to be to much I can always buy a rubber but pad to help reduce the damage of the kick to my shoulder. I'm pretty confident that if I just keep it jammed real tight up against my shoulder it wont be to bad.

Definitely save some cheddar for better optics. The recoil will rattle the zero outta anything sub par with every round sent down range. As far as iron sites vs. optics...optics have their place in the world & I use em but trust irons with my life.

Irons are good but if your in a dark hallway trying to put a guy to sleep I'll trust my Eotech hologram sights with my life.

Holy sheet dog!!! How much picatinny does one shotgun need???

Until the battery dies. With no iron sites as backups or to use as a co-witness...gonna be a spray-n-pray-kinda-day.

Like I said...I run a few Eotechs, an Aimpoint M4 & an ACOG...on my AR'S, but on a shotty? Just don't see the need. I've tried my XPS on the Benelli SN Tactical & just didn't see the advantage over the ghost rings. Yeah...target acquisition is quicker but how quick does one need to be with a scatter gun. I occasionally run slugs thru my various shottys but not enough to NEED red dot optics...ESPECIALLY on a pumper as short as yours. All opinions tho & as anyone that shoots knows...they vary greatly. That IS cool little piece tho. Fuggin Cali & our shitty gun laws. Class III FFL can't get here soon enough.

That's what I call "Pepto Bismal Tactical".

I love the guys that whine about chicks runnin pink weapons. 1st of all...they're shooting & that gets a "thumbsup" from me. 2nd...it lobs the same rounds with the same velocity as their OD green & LE tan tactical pieces do.

I pulled eotech off my m&p 15 a few days prior and threw it on there for night shooting . It really didnt help much on the pumper in the dark . It actually gave my father in law a nasty bruise on his forhead.lol We were using the 3 1/2 " shells.. might as well be a grenade launcher..

When it comes to Short Barrel Shotguns I believe the laws are all the same..(ILLEGAL) Unless you pay the piper as I did and get your stamp. 200 bills and you too can be above the law legally..

Not in Cali. No amount of cash makes THAT legal here. That's why I'm payin out the pooper for a class III FFL.

Im actually wondering, since the batf clarified their "once a rifle always a rifle" stance, if you can have a short barrel shotgun as long as you maintain the long barrel. Also wonder if you installed a pistol grip stock in a perm manner and a short barrel if it would now be considered a pistol in similar manner as an ar pistol. Think Ill shoot a letter off to them, been wanting a shotgun slung under my ar.

My SBS has my full name, address and permit # engraved on the opposite side of the receiver.. Once a SBS always a SBS. If I ever want to get rid of it I either have to give it to the sheriiffs office or sell it to a class 3 dealer. and No, a shotgun will never be considered a pistol if you cut it and throw a grip on it.
as long as the receiver is chambered for a shotgun round it will always be a shotgun.

They are called Tritium night sights. More reliable and cheaper too.

I don't know, the BATF is stupid. What some companies have been doing is making like a 12" barrel and permanently attaching a shroud to the end of the barrel large enough that a suppressor can fit in. Its basically permantly over 16" with the shroud even though the actual barrel is well under 16". Helps to keep the overall length down when you are using a can. One way the manufacturers read between the lines of the law.

Honestly I think the whole barrel minimum length deal is stupid. Anyone with a hacksaw, a file and a reamer to recrown a barrel can make a short barrel. Just something to make it harder on the citizen.

Not true, over the years several shotgun pistol/revolvers have been mass produced. Most recently of course is the rash of .410 shot revolvers such as the judge. I've also seen 20 gauge and even a 12 gauge shot revolver (both were absolute flops). Its a matter of being able to define a "sport or protection" purpose. They also have whats called a "destructive device" waver that allows weapons such as black powder knives and street sweapers. You pay $300 for the permit and wait for them to issue you a letter. Of course then its nearly impossible to sell.

The issue I'm concerned with is they can be flaky when you remanufacture something and change its purpose.

I did check with redjacket a while back because they manufacture an under barrel shotgun. They stated that it is 50 state legal but, they only sell it to law enforcement agencies.

While I wait for a reply to my email, I did some digging. An sbr or sbs is defined as having a buttstock. Also, the state that a stripped receiver is defined neither as a rifle nor pistol. I know neither answers the question... just kind of makes the question more intersting.

From what I know with out a Class 3 stamp, rifles min barrel length is 16" and shotguns are 18". Anything under that you need the stamp.

Most gunsmith cut 1/4" long just to be safe when cutting barrels down.

There are some laws for over all length as well, think its 26" min.

Get into some short barrel AR's where they have a 14.5" barrel, most will add a flash hider to get the 16" length for the barrel, but it has to be staked and welded to the barrel to make it permanent.

With pistols like the Judge not only can they shoot 410 shells, they can also shoot 45 Long Colt. That is what gets it labeled as a pistol not a shotgun.
