GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread

Yea, backordered till I get time to ship stuff :ror:

It still lets you order it. I try to ship once a week

Oh sweet. Well then I'll order from you like always!!

Didn't want it to be another best gear deal. Lol.

So austin, what's thr point of an ext charger if thr unit itself charges? Just multi battery charging option?

Just got this radio in its stock form today. Noticed the scroll button moves opposite direction. Is that normal for thr stock firmware? And prolly be fixed after the hack?

Well the external charger is great if you have multiple batteries, I've got one plugged in and just laying on my desk with a fresh battery always in it. Also, it lets you charge the battery in a lipo bag if you have safety concerns. I like to have a spare battery with me all the time because they aren't the longest lasting and I forget to charge the radio quite often.

Yes, on the 3c the scroll button is backwards. There is a reverse setting in the 0.6.1 global menu

Oh awesome, thanks austin.

I see you carry the charger, didn't see if ya carried batteries too.

Haven't even looked at the mah it has. Prolly a lot less than the 2200 run time on my 3b, lol. How long you think it runs for?

It's 800mah, and it has to boost the voltage so it actually draws more than 3b. I don't remember how much though.

But I can get a day out of it. So 6ish hours.

So I have ch3 setup to run a winch, Iamam using a modded towerpro mg945 board as a winch controller. We did away with the potentiometer and swapped in a pair of 2.2k resistors thinking our problem was a bad potentiometer. Well, the winch still screens one way on ch3; we swapped over to ch2 and adjusted the trim and got the winch to hold position. Is there a way to enable a trim adjustment on ch3?

Assuming it has the new firmware. Scroll to Trim, then press and hold enter.

That works, but not like ch2 does. I can dial in my trim but as soon as I run the winch it starts chattering. On ch2 it holds position, is there a dead band adjust?

I am also interested in channel 3 adjustment. Specifically for 2 speed transmission. My understanding is that the servo for the shifter needs to be adjusted to hold the shifter in gear. Wondering if this radio can do that.

1st off thank you Losikid for babysitting this TX!
I have what is probably an easy one. 1st time setting up and the wheel crab turns my 4ws. I want to use the D/R button with 20% steps for the rear steering (ch3). any help is appreciated.

I'm going to bed now or I would post my template....... layout should be back somewhere in these pages. I used d/r for winch and ch 3 trim for steering in 20% no long holds
