I just finished my install of the new housings and they're top notch. The tolerance seems to be tightened up as the bearings and carrier all fit in nice and snug.

The Axles are also excellent. The CV no longer binds from lock too lock.

Also one thing I was really happy about is the front shocks now mount a little forward so that it's not even close to the pan hard mount.

I really think with all these updates it's going to be a fantastic truck.

Great work man, does it also solve the issue with the inside edge of the right front tire rubbing the steering link end?
They portal box is still the same so with the stock wheels it will rub yet. I use RC4WD wheels or some Chinese vanquish knock off and I haven't had the issue. The SSD wheels do rub with the stock tires though.

Much needed upgrades......My rear portal housings were both cracked. Great job Redcat…….."thumbsup"

I just ordered their revised parts recently.

Updated CVA Axles
RER11821
$24.99

Flat Skid
RER12072
$12.99

Revised Axle Parts
RER11939
$17.99

So I called redcat yesterday to find out the part number on the upgraded axles that they are putting in the gen 8 axe and they are not available as of yet. Just on the new vehicle. He said to keep an eye out because they will post the new part numbers soon.

I think you talked to someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. According to Redcat on Facebook those are the new part#

That's odd, because I thought they were the same updated axles mentioned above, RER11821. Redcat just updated those axles, so I can't imagine they came out with a 3rd version for this new truck.

That’s what they are telling me. They may be available now on their website as a lot of the parts are now showing In stock

Maybe they are releasing the HD axle housing kit as individual parts with new part numbers to go along with the AXE version. It would suck to have to buy the complete set of HD housings, c-hubs, and rear portal boxes every time you had to replace one of those components.

I looked at that is what it looks like. They have an update kit and are releasing Axe parts replacement parts with a different number so you don't have to get all the parts if you just need a housing etc.
