funny thing is that jeep was made by ford motor company during ww2 so the jeep is the history of the bronco
Actually, that's only a "half-truth". All of the original Jeeps supplied to the U.S. Army were made by Willys. It was only upon the Army wanting production ramped up, that tl Willys authorized the Army to award a secondary contract to Ford...but, even though Ford was building the additionally needed vehicles, they were still built using the Willys design. As for the design, itself, three companies participated in submitting designs & prototypes to the Army - Willys, Ford, and Bantam. The army selected the design by Willys, although they wanted the front grill designed by Ford incorporated into the finished design

^^Yep, no different than 1911 handguns have been made for military use by everyone from Remington, to the Singer sewing machine company.

Willys didn't authorized anything, they didn't have any right on the Jeep, plans and patents of the Jeep were property of the gouvernment back then ... Willys was granted with the first production contract by the Army, then the Army decided to also grant a contract to Ford as Willys wasn't able to produce enough vehicles.

willys dident design the jeep and there were about 10 different companys making the GPs for the military and many different versions even with fully independent suspentions but ford made more than anyone having the largest factorys there still made today by more than one company the roxor by mahindra for exsample is a ww2 "jeep"

willies was failing after the war so they made a few changes and sold the jeep as a utility vehicle to be used on farms and ranches to stay in buisness they never really made it big though

and they all had different grills so that wasent a thing till jeep became a brand some had square grills lol some had no grills they were what ever they needed them to be

new ww2 jeep as licenced by the us goverment made in 2017 in detroit they had to change the grill for the new ones in i think 2021 to keep selling them in the us but they still sell them
