Has anyone used the Dupli-Color brand paint on Lexan? I couldn't find anything when I searched for it. It's an automotive acrylic enamel. It is sold at most auto part stores. I tested it on some scrap lexan and it seems to hold up pretty well. I just haven't had a chance to see what it will do over time. If this would work, you could match all the 1:1 colors for the scale rigs.

Well except for the fact that, 'real' car colors always appears to be darker on smaller models...

never used it on lexan, wont work.
but its KILLER for hard bodies, its the ONLY paint ill use, well that and krylon fuse, both of which come with the SUPER fine blue fan nozzle.

X2! Dupli-Color will just flake off when the body is flexed unless you use an adheasion promoter first. If you want a good paint that is a specific car color, go to your local dealership and get paint there, the stuff is scary good! I just ordered another can of Mopar Parts Moss Green Pearl spray so I can paint a HPI TJ body to match my XJ like I did with the BRP J Racing Truck Body a few years back.

I just tried flexing some pieces and I see where it is starting to flake. I was hoping it would work since my LHS is out of the color I wanted to use this weekend. Thanks for the responses.

You might be able to spray it on the outside but I suspect it still wouldn't stand up to the flexing Lexan does.

That makes the problem even worse because now the paint is being rubbed into things besides not having any real adheashion. Tried that too, ended up beiung a waste of money.
