Ok i have a wraith with a venom 3300 kv brushless motor and esc. I have bin running it on a 2s pack with no problems but i wanted more power so i went to 3s and that is when the problems started.i ran it on the 3s for about 5 min and it ate the idler gear so i went and got new steel gears. the hobby shop did not have them for the wraith so i got the ones for the ax-10 and took them home. once i got home i realized the out put shafts where not the same so i took the transmission out of my ax-10 and used it every thing works great but the rear drive shaft is not long enough now. there is only about 5 or 6 mm that is actually connected and when i put it on the ground and nail it the drive shaft pops apart. what can i use that has a longer drive shaft.

The AX10 Shafts work just fine on the Wraith trans. This is covered in the beginners sticky.

i don't have a wraith trans i have a AX10 trans in the wraith. the wraith is a longer frame witch means the rear drive shaft is to short. the ax10 dose not have the extended out put shaft like the wraith trans.

im not sure on how long it needs to be total i need about another 15 mm or so.

T-Maxx shafts, P/N TRA 4928 & TRA 4951. This will work on the rear, you'll need to drill out the yokes a bit to get them to go over the output and pinion shafts. Installed one on the rear of mine, front looks like it may have some clearance issues, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!

Get your Wraith parts online, put the upgraded Wraith tranny back in and get some MIP shafts. DONE!!!

i would do that but i want to run the Robinson racing gears that i bought and the aluminum trans housing witch is for the ax10 so i kind have to stick with that trans.

i bought all of this stuff thinking that it was the same as the wraith.

In the beginner section it has a list of what can swap over between the ax-10 and the wraith. Think all gears are the same except the output shafts. Have to look and see for sure.

That's just not going to work. But the Wraith trans back in. You're going to have to get different outputs for the AX10 trans to make it work anyway, it would need an extended rear output. Put the Wraith trans back in.

i made it work i am just looking for a drive shaft that is stronger in fact i took it out last night and beat on it for about 2 hr with no problems on a 3s. the ax10 trans works great you just have to extend the rear drive shaft to compensate for the shorter output shaft. what i did is took the stock drive shaft and put a steel rod down the hollow center that was about 20 mm longer than the stock length then took one of the extra drive shafts from the kit and cut a 20 mm section off and epoxied it in place on the shaft and it seems to be holding up good so far.

I am just trying to find a all steel replacement for what i have. the reason i went through all this trouble is because i went out and bought the wrong finale gear the Robinson solid gear with the out put shafts molded on.

Looks like you're rubbing on the skid and link. It will be cheaper to put the stock trans back in, get a new final gear, use the stock outputs, and either use the stock driveshafts or standard upgraded wraith driveshafts.

It sounds like you are trying to do lots of extra work to bandaid a mistake.
