Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs

ok, this may sound silly Q, but I have never saw a vp hex hubs in person, how do you attach the wheel when using the 600, 725 or longer hex hubs?

does the wheel nut goes inside the hex hub until reach the axle thread?
any pic of a large vp hex hub in both sides?

I am about to order some SLW hubs to do this mod on my Wraith and Dingo. Two questions.

1. What is the difference between the regular and "Losi" version of the SLW hubs?
2. I Currently have the VP c hubs and knuckles on my Dingo. I had to use the wider Traxxas plastic hexes to get the front to clear the stock tires and wheels. Does anyone know if the 225 hubs will be enough or should I go with the 350's?

Never seen any losi hub before but I would go with the 350 "thumbsup"

Update: I had stopped by the LHS and all they had was the 225 standard SLW hubs. I picked up a set and just tried them out. I used to have the wider plastic Traxxas hexes and there was just shy of 1/8" clearance between the tire and the knuckle steering arm. Now with stock width hexes and the 225 SLW hubs I have just over 1/4". Perfect!"thumbsup"

Now I just need to get some scale lug bolts or at least some cap screws. All I had in 4-40 was straight slot pan head screws and they look kinda stupid.

So after skimming the thread I didn't see much about getting more backspacing with the .225 hubs and axial 1.9's to achieve close to the same track width as the stock wheels. Can one just shave down the plastic hex area a bit?

Not so much looking for width as durability in the hex area. Other than spinning hexes, these wheels are awesome imo.

There is plenty of meat you could mill it down a little.

not sure if its already been asked but what's it do to the strength of the rim any breakage on stress points?
It's a mod you do when you striped out the hex or want to make your rig wider.

Great idea Mr V. I can't believe I just found this thread."thumbsup"
I'm going to revive my stripped out Wraith wheels. I'll post up pic's when I done.
