Hello, Everyone; I thought I'd share my current build: a custom-designed 6x6 Heavy Truck set up as a tow truck. The chassis is of my design, along with the body. The axles are TRX-4/6, sitting on leaf springs. Yes, I know that portals and leaf springs are a recipe for disaster, but we will see how things go. It will run a Lesu 3spd transmission paired with a Holmes Hobby 1800kV revolver. Steering will be SOA with a Tekin T-440. The truck cab will be 3D printed once I'm done with designing. There will be a number of chassis braces that I will machine out of Delrin and/or aluminum. The tow boom rendering is just a mock-up for now, as I'm unsure where to place it.

Neat build. Who's the helping paw? Tell it I said psssss, pssssss. Cute 😍

add a link in the upper mount on each axle to control axle wrap

those leaf springs like to bend and break and with portals theres alot of leverage on those poor things lol

the trick is to mount the upper link to the chassis so theres no binding and you still get full range of traval

Running spring under i think you've given the leaf springs a fighting chance.
Bgredjeep, I'm hoping that as well. I've got TRX-4 axles under my BRX01, with the rear leaf sprung, and anti-wrap bars, and so far, so good.

Gula, the helping paw is Trixie; she's never far from me.

ferp420, I have anti-wraps on the mid and rear axles. I'm currently trying to figure out how to setup the front axle.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Here are some updates. The chassis is about 8mm thick, which is thicker than the Trailfinder chassis and the Boomracing BRX01 chassis, but it allows me to mount the none pivot leaf mount solid where there is enough play to help with suspension flex. As of now, I have the transmission and shift servo mounted. Unfortunately, now that my grad school classes begin Monday, I won't have as much free time to work on this.
