Curt's Dlux Superlite Berg-ler

New shoes for the Berg-ler.

Voodoo blues
6.0 cc
soft outers
6 bolt CI wheels.

Seeing that your rig is so light and you're running blue's on 6.0" DD, I'd recommend the 'star' pin pattern front and rear. Also consider splitting pins as well. I run blue's on 5.5" DD soft...you can even get away with 5.25" on certain types of rock.

Combine them for the win...

Lol. I still prefer the volume compensation of the big bore. Those do look nice though. Should be much easier to assemble than the snap ring.

^ hahahaha. You're right. But I needed a small and short shock
My clearances are super tight. Especially front axle case side

A turned down big bore is smaller, by a hair than an SCX shock. "thumbsup"

Oh really? with it turned down that far what is the wall thickness of the shock?

You may have to show me the light when I'm out in SLC next week.

Most of the guys that are running the voodoo in the backyard have this foam setup in the silver tires. I figured I could try this setup first before my silvers show up. I do have smaller DD sets that are currently being clapped out on another rig.

Remind me again what the star pattern is!

Thanks Matt! Ive been hanging on to these tires since Nats now that I have a new car dialed to a level of comfort with tires I know. Im looking forward to trying something new.

Not the foam set up we are running. vent the wheel and foam bring them tonight show you what we are doing. car is working great. tires take a little getting use to but they work great

The O.D. of a mini T spring is .450. Your SCX shock will be a hair over that at its largest. I am not sure what that is....

The largest diameter of a STOCK Big Bore is the hex at the top of the shock that is .630. After that, the body is only .490 stock so you only have to take it down .040 on the diameter to be smaller than the spring.

I am thinking a stock Big bore with the hex gone but no lathing of the body is still smaller than an SCX?

I turn the standard Big bore down .060 so they come out to about .430 or .020 smaller than the O.D. of a Mini T spring.

It is a 5.25 soft foam outer. Its what I ordered for geo's silvers

There are some nifty knuckles and weights hangin under those wheels too. I'll get pics later

Are the old wheels beadlocks? I know that's a Sedona not a rover but....

My new wheel/tire combo was heavier than the old setup. Weird?

Al hardware? Glue on? Half hardware? I think that may explain thw extreme weight difference between yours and mine.

Old bead locks complete delrin. Al stand offs and steel 4-40 hardware throughout. Topped off with carbon face.

Its been 7 months since my last update. But with a wedding, grad school classes, and a move i finally got a chance to do some work on my rig. So i added some 7075 centers for my cases. Over these 7 months i was still driving on nearly a bi weekly basis.

I also want to report how much i enjoy these loaded dice weights and dlux knuckles. This rig is by far more stable and consistent. The best part is i have more room for higher weights and some weight for the rear. I was a little reluctant to swing a bunch of weight at this but im considering adding more at all four corners after i find the slugs and hangers in my parts boxes.

Anyways beautiful centers right!

Car is looking great Curt! Glad to see your back in the section bringing some life in!

I am not directing this towards you but, since you brought it up.... I have never understood the reluctance to trying more weight on the front of our cars these days if its as simple as putting the weight on and running. It has to be one of the quickest mods to try and IMHO one of the most beneficial.

If it makes you feel any better to try more weight.... I am probably running close to 4oz more PER SIDE than youre showing and I would add more to the bottom/outside portions if I had the room!
