Curt's Dlux Superlite Berg-ler

Ive been having a bit of motor stall latley so i figured it was time these 16ts got a freshen up before BOTW..... this always seems to be my down fall. The motor needed new brushes for sure. One was broken and im sure the spring had a tough time applying pressure. The timing ring was bent....... no problem i got a spare in another motor... cut the comm.... looking beautiful mirror finishon my very last pass.... something to write home about... BAM! The edge of one segment bit the tool and........ugh

OUCH:evil:

Gremlin #2 since I was replacing motors, I figured now was a good time to beef up some of my wiring from 16GA to 14GA for the motors and 12GA for the power wire for my ESC's and draw away a little extra heat. After wiring it all up and putting in the 30t's I ran the season before (after a nice freshening up by holmes) One of the ESC's just refused to fire up. all it does is tick at me with some very faint flashing. Hopefully I didn't kill it. The other works just great though. Not having a spare set of BRXL Minis lying around I had to vulture off of my old XR10 and pull a set of FXRs. They fired up just fine. Packing up all my stuff to head out to Wendover! Best of the West here I come!

Great weekend in the books! I love Wendover. Some wild adventures, good Mexican food and amazing courses all along side some really awesome people! We were able to run 8 courses even with some rain in the mix. My head wasn't in the game and the first 4 courses were tough for me I had a hard time connecting some lines together. The second half of the day I was able to shake the yips and put up some solid finishes on 3 of the last 4. The 4th course only two drivers finished all day. End result 7th place.

Its been a lot of prep and updates headed into the RC Rock Crawling Championship, nothing major but updates and maintenance. I got some new lower rear links that should give me a touch more breakover. Did some shock and upper link adjustments and found a broken pin in my HH hv500. (That was quickly replaced by some fantastic customer service at Holmes Hobbies). The motors are back to 16t with new armatures front and rear, plus a new set of BRminis. Car feels smooth as silk. The gear boxes are a bit quieter too with a brand new set of SAF gears from Dlux using the standard 48p pinion soooooo nice and then brand new bearing throughout both cases! This rig is ready to rock down south and couldnt be happier. Here's a tiny tease of the new gears inside the cases.

New Season NEW Skins!

Car made a really strong a stable showing for 2 and 9/10 of our 5 courses yesterday. The clear dirt got into my radio or electrics and it wanted to start driving its self or not drive at all..... that last course it managed to work long enough to approach gate one before totally giving up. Still placed 7th. Lets hope things dry out and start working correctly..... /fingercrossed

I won the October series in the backyard and got the perpetual trophy and my name is etched in the side too. Almost like a Stanley Cup for Crawlers. First few rounds were tough.... but by the end of the playoffs the competition just didn't show..... (pity trophy maybe...). But I though I'd share a little bit of insight as to what we do together as a club. BTW no one wants to win the 2nd place trophy...... if you look carefully in this build thread it may appear in the background somewhere.

We had a comp this last weekend..... killer rock... huge granite boulders and faces with all sorts of really cool features. ONce again my day started out strong, but I couldn't keep it together and finished dead last with a +13.

I made an adjustment on my upper links (went up a hole at the axle) this will take out some of the dive I've been getting. Nice for extra grip on climbs but It's been messing with some of my off camber stuff. Hopefully this will let the car act a little more neutral than overly aggressive.

New shoes for the rear narrowed up. They hooked up just enough to work out pretty well on saturday. The 7th place finish was mostly driver error.

Ah the double seem is because i screwed up when i cut it the second time (i cut out a whole tread too much)..... hahahaha. Holds together great tho
