colorado springs weekly comps/trail runs?

There are 3 types of scale rules in place. SORCCA, the new USRCCA Trail Class, and G6. I really think instead of changing them everyone should follow them so if you compete at a national level or at other comps there is no confusion.

The Trail Class is still new, but the rules on penalties will still stay the same, there will be small adjustments mainly to the rig specs.

I agree that changing certain rules will confuse people whether they are new to scale competition or going from a local level to a regionoal or national event. Case in point, ANYONE can go to scale nationals or a scale event out of state, (its a blast btw) but if you have been running an altered rule set different from the standard, SORCCA, USRCCA or RECON G6 rules it could be an issue and the driver will have to adjust how they drive.

Not trying to stir the pot just want to help in developing something that everyone can enjoy "thumbsup"

That is what I am finding out as I sit here searching - the one question I still have is...what is TTC? Is that "Tough Truck Challenge"? Wondering if that has something to do with duration like a G6.

I dont think we are going to be changing rules, more determining what style we are going to adopt, hence the reason for the postponment.

Thanks for the clarification, Patrick. I almost called The Crawl Space this morning with a slew of questions. Glad I waited

TTC is a kick in the pants! Its pretty much like the Top Truck Challenge thats held in Glen Helen each year but with scale trucks. We use a pull sled instead of a concrete mixer though

RECON G6 is more of an endurance trail run, they do have a sled pull but its used as a drivers challenge.

Theres a bunch of different courses, frame twister, mini rubicon, hill climb, etc. Its a test of driver and truck to see if you can get through at the courses. TTC events can be rough but its alot of fun for the group as a whole because its not about one or two people winning but everyone cheering the other drivers on and helping them through courses.

I'm always open to answer questions, I can take phone calls must of the time. If you have multiple questions its best to message, email or call "before" hours, 8am-10am. "thumbsup"

Yay! Something for my Gelande 2 to get into. This thing has CONSUMED me. But she is painted (Just waiting on my external cage, luggage rack, and snorkel) and after finding out that NONE of my Lipos will fit. Had to run out and grab myself the ONLY Venom 20c 2000mah 2S left at hobby town... Dag nab it! OH, so in the meantime I have been gutting my SCX10 for parts for the long wheelbase "Support Rig", which now is using, NONE, of the parts from my SCX10 (T-Rex60 axles, Gelande 2 tranny plate/ lower link mount, "The Bear" Russian chassis, R2 tranny...Oh wait, I'm using the shocks lol). First off, I bought a 13.8 inch wheelbase Pro-Line GMC Topkick, which looked somewhat silly next to the Gelande 2 (That thing is knocking on the 1/8 scale door), so then I went and bought a 13.8 inch wheelbase Pro-Line Ford F-650... Better, but, still silly. So I have concluded that the support rig is gonna be a HPI 1979 Ford F-150 Supercab with a land yacht 14.5 inch wheelbase (Scale tires mind you). having a longer wheelbase by about 40%-50% should make for a different driving experience from the Gelande 2.... Long story short, anyone want a 13.8 inch wheelbase GMC Topkick or Ford F-650 body? Never opened, just gotta make enough to afford the new HPI Body...Without using a trace-able means of payment

Ok everyone looks like we have interest in the Blodgett peak run. So we will meet up Saturday at ten at the pin drop. Dropped Pin

http://goo.gl/maps/2vOaH it is the green arrow not the red pin. I will have hoodies sweatshirts and tees at the crawl. Any questions? Give me a shout.

Excellent point ... as long as we all understand the rules and we all are judged by the same rules then it really shouldn't matter. No sense re-inventing the wheel.

Tires

I've been running the stock tires ever since I've had my scx10 and decided it's time to try something new. Anyone have input on a good tire for Palmer Park style scaling? Has anyone had experience with the Pro-Line 1.9 Interco TSL SX **XL**Super Swamper G8 Tire ... they sound like an awesome tire?

Not sure but Donnie runs ss tires on his but I like the integy tires I have the lugs are tall enough to get u a good bite got a spare set if u wana try em out

Agreed, I don't ever want to come off as knocking anyones ideas or input, this is a community of people and everyone voice will be heard "thumbsup"

The new TSL xl tires are just a larger version of the OG 1.9 TSL tires, and they straight up work. Soft but durable rubber compound, excellent tread spacing with good clean out characteristics and semi-aggressive sidewall lugs lend to great scale tire choice.

I think the pitbull 1.9s are the hotness right now. They have 3 types, the Pitbull, the pitbull growler, and the mad beast. Dezmoon has reviews on all 3 in the tires/wheel section. I just did a search for "pit bull" and found them.

I have tried the pitbulls. I was not a fan of them. The tsl swampers and the baja claws are what I have liked the most. A lot of people like the pits I just didnt enjoy em.

Switch of plans for this Sunday. We will be doing the family crawl at lazyland in Palmer park. We are going to be heading to the north west this time and checking out some new trails on the north side of the park. Here is a pin drop for everyone. Dropped Pin

This crawl is open to anyone that wants to come out. No fees. No expectations. Just good folks playing with rc toys.

Thanks for all the great feedback on tires. I guess I'm leaning towards trying the TSL SX **XL**Super swamper G8s but George, if you're going to be at the crawl sunday, could you bring that extra set of integy tires .... would love to look at them.

As of this point in time we can not get that far down into lazy land . It's blocked at the first parking area headed down there.

No, Jeremy means the road is blocked (as of today) just shortly after you turn onto the dirt road to the entrance to Lazyland; way before the typical turn around we all park at.
