CLASSIFIEDS - A How To Guide

Ok, so I bought a Star, I even bought a Wreckloose roller. But for some reason I can't sell. I submitted the post four days ago, does it take that long to be reviewed and then posted?

The post you submitted was on 04-25-2012, and you write this on 04-27-2012.... Unless my count is wrong, that is 2 days and not 4 days.

Either way, NO, it does not take that long for any for sale post to appear.

I am the one who moderated & deleted your for sale thread on 04-25-2012. It was deleted because it had no asking price listed anywhere in the thread. I notice you must have figured that out because you resubmitted it with a price and I then approved and posted public right away.

I have been here for a couple of months reading and searching. I would rather do that than ask a question that has been asked a 100 times before, so getting to the 30 posts was going to take forever. I just bought a star and got on with it. Thanks for all the GREAT info on this site!

Hmm I cant see the classifieds anymore, I wonder if it is my post count...
I don't post much, mostly lurk

Never mind on the above, apparently I need to comment on 14 more photos or something :)

Cool, nice paint, sweet, more pics please, keep us posted, etc...
are not acceptable posts for the first 30 posts. Comments along that line will be deleted.

The first 30 posts as a new member need to be productive & meaningful posts.

.

But they add up to your total post count for those OVER 30 posts...

So is this an anti-spam filter or just an anti-nonsense filter? If it is an anti-spam then comments regarding a quality paint job should suffice. If it is a anti-nonsense or a filter to prevent posts that add no real value then why don't you delete ALL posts along those lines?

Furthermore, you expect me, and every other person with less than 30 posts, to go through and add productive, meaningful, and insightful comments when the assumption is that we know nothing and we are new?

Sounds like a circular reference error to me ;-)

Or are you saying I should wait until AFTER 30 posts before those posts are acceptable?

He's got 5 years on you, I don't think he's exactly "new". :ror:

Yeah, I am not new, I just usually play with the big toys and now I want to spend some more time learning more about the smaller and hopefully cheaper toys "thumbsup"

Anti-bs measure. Otherwise people would sign up, make 30 dumb posts in 30 days and have access to the classifieds, then screw someone over and never be seen again.

After you get your 30 good posts, you can post all the dumb crap you want to. I know I certainly do. "thumbsup"

Haha yeah, I joined this forum (and many others) WITHOUT yapping for a long time (although I must admit this one has been a LOOOONNNNGGGG time lol), because you can learn SO much before asking a single question. I choose to read more and ask questions whenever I actually feel that my question adds value OR I simply cant find the answer I am looking for with my legit Google skills.

Didn't mean new as in time... Meant it as the first 30 posts.

Oddly I have seen some people show they have been a member since 2004-2005 and never show a post made until the present day and then they will make 30-35 posts all cool, sweet, I want one! , etc...
Posts like that done all in one or two days.... No matter how ya slice it.... still post whoring

I have a star but I'm under 30 post, I keep the classified page open at work and at home but they do not always update when I refresh the page. So I have lost out on a few good deals because of this. Am I limited or what could be the problem?

Edit:
I believe I know why the page will not refresh the way I'm use to seeing in other forums. It appears that all classifieds have to be approved by a moderator, so the classified can be submitted at 9 but not post until 12 with several other at the same time as they get approve and when they post they have the time when they were submitted and not the time they were posted.
