CCW guys...chambered round?

It’s always something.......The public should not be able to have more than 10rd's in a magazine (so it's ok to shoot you 10 times, 11 if you keep one in the pipe, but 12 or more is way too much<!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" o:preferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:formulas> <v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"/> </v:formulas> <v:path o:extrusionok="f" gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> <o:lock v:ext="edit" aspectratio="t"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="Picture_x0020_1" o:spid="_x0000_i1026" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif" style='width:11.4pt; height:11.4pt;visibility:visible;mso-wrap-style:square'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\KENNYM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif" o:title="icon_rolleyes"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><!--[if !vml]-->, The public should not be able to conceal a pistol, Then there are the ones that bitch about the type of ammo we have, Don't forget the people that want to tell us how many guns we can have or the type of guns we can have, There are the people that say what kind of triggers we can have (Like the "Hellfire" trigger) and I can shoot my Glock 32 with 14rd's faster than a full auto AR-15 (not accurately, but faster), Now people bitch about having a round in the chamber<!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shape id="Picture_x0020_2" o:spid="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif" style='width:11.4pt;height:11.4pt;visibility:visible;mso-wrap-style:square'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\KENNYM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif" o:title="icon_rolleyes"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><!--[if !vml]-->! If people would do the research they would see or learn that most hand guns have a safety to stop them from discharging unless the trigger is pulled. Most pistols have more than one safety to prevent this. A Glock has 3!!! One external and two inside! Most, not all the time that it happens it's with a revolver not an automatic. I guess people will not be happy till we are all carrying slingshots! But even then they will tell us that our rubber band can't be longer than 8", the shot for it can't weigh over 2oz, the slingshot must be folded when we carry it, the rubber band must not be modified in any way, and you can't carry your slingshot loaded....you must keep your shot in a case with a lock, no more than 10 shot in that case, and case must be in your front pocket with the key in the left pocket. Any person caught not doing this will be convicted of a felony

Carrying a gun is a huge responsibility no matter what the circumstances. I am a Law Enforcement Officer and receive continual training for off duty scenarios as well as on duty scenarios. A lot of the off duty training I have recieved is about how much carrying a gun can get you into trouble as well as get you out of it. Deadly force is not very often an option and most people don't carry tazers, OC spray and batons while off duty or a civilian out in the public.

The people who are scared that their gun might mis-fire with a round in the chamber are people who should not be carrying a gun. Anyone who is knowledgable about firearms will not be concerned about carrying with one in the chamber (even 1911's). As far as 1911's go, I know several people who carry cocked and locked with a concealment type holster with no thumb break. The current (and for many years now) 1911's have safeties that will not allow the gun to fire if dropped even with the hammer back.

The department I work for had a trainee who was scared to carry her duty weapon with one in the chamber. Needless to say, she didn't work for us long.

I have to agree with you guys, Why would I carry my pistol if I did not have one in the pipe in case I needed it? Might as well carry it with a gun lock on it as well it only takes 5 sec to find the key and remove it.
