As proven by the pics, they are ugly as ****. But hey, to each their own right. Since most don't care if they look realistic, why run tires, wheels and axles? Let's put "spider legs" on them and make them crawl better. Let's just stray so far away from an actual comp 1:1 til it looks like some kinda alien exploration vehicle. :flipoff:

I know it has been said before, but I'd like to see the dimensions of bodied and bodiless closer. Only seems fair, and I'd love the opportunity to get creative cutting down some lexan lids.

Nail on the head. the rules should be the same for bodied rigs as it is for bodiless. The width rule is pure bull**** and gives the bodiless rigs an advantage.

Soo.... having motors on each axle is in line with 1:1 comp rigs?
Or tires and wheels that would scale up to 70" tires on 26" rims is scale? (most 1:10 comp bodies are actually closer to 1:12th scale or smaller)

Not a whole lot about RC Comp Crawlers retains any scale realism, that's why there's such a big scale community. RC Comp Crawlers are purpose built to crawl over small rock piles. Bodiless chassis are made for clearance, and visibility.

I do agree that there are some ugly ass bodiless chassis that might as well just be a chunk of chewed up delrin, but there are some that actually do look good.

I made this chassis almost 2 years ago:

But, I can understand why people run bodies... It's easier to follow the group than to stand out and try something new... :flipoff:

Sorry all but the new V4 BJ is DAMNED SEXY:flipoff:

But in the eye of my 4 y/o son who has started to comp 1.9 I told him I wasn't going to fix his WK rig that I built when he was 2 because I was tired of playing with WK axles and that he could have one of my other 2.2's. I didn't give him the choice of the XR or the LCC but told him that he could have either the Bully BJ that I had been tweaking for him running a V3.5 BJ chassis or the SWX AX10 that has a nice proline CP body on it

his reason...it looks more cooler :lmao:

You guessed it he picked the AX10.....damned...that means I am going to have to keep it running and keep fixing things :lmao: The BJ Bully is impossible to break:twisted::lmao:

true, true but i'd also rather run a slash than a comp offroad truck(like an RC10T or whatever the new trucks are) cause i can't stand 10 foot control arms. :lmao:to each their own. OP wanted an opinion so i voiced mine. ;-)

Yes, proportions of an E-Revo for example would look wierd in 1:1, but so would a slash. When's the last time you saw an 11' wide F150? (I know the TORC trucks are wider than stock, but not that much wider than stock.)

Straying off topic though...
