Bodyless chat...AM I THE ONLY GUY?

It's just easier to see what's going on with the suspension and it provides better clearence when everything is articulating. I've had to hack up my bodies so bad just to get everything to well before that it just took away too much of the paint theme I wanted to have. I've also had the rear of the body snag or shread on rocks.
The new XR-10 body is the closest I've seen that might be worth using but that's just my own opinion. I still dont like the little scoop thingy on top of it.

Another reason I like the bodiless, I can change the color or theme just by changing out the panels or adding a new sticker. You gotta paint a whole new body other wise.

I hate the look too, But. If you cant beat em, join em.
WHat the hell are you talking about?
You kicked our butts with a bodied rig.

My 2cents: I think that both have their ups and downs. I ran a bodyless berg for the last few years and hve recently been running my stock XR with its body. But I am watching the bodyless options unfold and will prob end up going that rout again.

a guy I know here in calgary alberta (well he actually lives just outside of the city now) competes in all kinds of comps with his tube buggy on 54" boggers, he also has a set of 66" monster truck tires for "car crushing" lol, he competed in KOH a couple years ago and made it into the LCQ but didnt advance to the actual race, close though! he also won TTC (actually the first and only ever official "tie") a couple years back with the same rig. one hell of a machine!!

clayton Kratz doesn't count. The Warthog is not a comp buggy.

plus why is it that i was able to win against all the albertan rigs with 37" sticky comp tires in my rock buggy? both at the offroad expo we rocks and HRC 2010

Edit: He drove Curts buggy in werock once. cause curts back was eff'd up.

bodieless is the way things are moving for a reason.

The currect rc chassis like the juice, rockshow are simulare to 1:1 chassis like
this one.
I like the bodieless chassis,a painted body looks better, but I doubt I'll ever go back.

i think the front looks a little stupid, but i dont mind them, and ive seen a cupple sweet homemade buggys, but if there is one thing i cant stand is a bug body, send me one and ill make a video of what i think of it.

but somebody said you have to hack a body to make them clear the tires, but ive only cut the grille off my body and it clears just fine, as well as somebody said that a body can push you off a rock or off a line but ive had mine stop me from flipping over more times than push me off a line

Like stated before function over form. You run a grappler pro, I personally think they are one of the best looking bodies made but one of the worst performing comp bodys. When you roll over if you try to correct either your front end or your rear end gets pushed up into a rock. With a bug body it will roll like a ball right back over onto its tires. Function over form.

That’s not a comp buggy FWIW. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
That’s a single seater east coast hill climber. Ya sure it could do some cone dodging but probably be terrible at it. And that is a VERY unique look that hardly anyone runs anymore. Maybe 8 years ago that was popular in 1:1 but not anymore. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
I hardly take your post as an argument towards bodyless. <o:p></o:p>

thats a perfect example!

that custome chassis is at least more proportional to a real body then runnign a bodiless.

I CAN NOT stand the T1E/beatlejuice/bodyless look.

Am i the only one? it seams as thoguh all the MOA guys are running them. i think they look liek a dogs breakfast...absolute rubbish.

Am i the only one. Why is everyone runnign them?

Im a little late to the party on this, but I realy like the look of the bodyless rigs. I dont have a preference either way. I guess I always keep an open mind about design concepts.

My reason for going bodiless, besides liking the look, was that it appeared to me that you have better side clearance.

Another part of it is that I don't like the Beetle body, and that seems to be the body for comping. I think it has benefits when it comes to roll overs, but a downside in full side clearance.

As for comping and benefits...I'd say driver skill tops the "top".8) So whatever the driver likes best and feels more comfortable with, chances are the better they will perform.

IMHO, YMMV

Thats funny,my truck is a 1 seater too,and it climbs hills also:ror:
Often with some loose rocks, fun is fun, what works works."thumbsup"

All that bouncing around and the body didnt get hung up on anything,Oh wait there isnt a body.

same climbs,a body would be jacked and limit your abilities and chance of making the climb IMO

How about this body,oh wait!:ror::mrgreen:
