Hi all, just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the great threads on this site. I've been learning a ton. I just got my first wraith spawn kit a few weeks ago. It is my first battery RC, I'm a now converted nitro runner. I'm happy with my decision. Pics to come soon and some questions I'm sure.

Welcome. I, too, have come here after getting a Wraith. It has been a great experience and helpful people. Have fun.

Well here they are, these are right after I got her running. I made the panels out of an old no trespassing sign. I have the spawn body I'm working on a design for.

More updates to come.

just for a little more info the electronics I'm running are:
Axial 55t motor
Horizon Hobbies 60A forward/Reverse Waterproof Brushed ESC
Spectrum DX2E Transmitter and the receiver that came with
Tactic TSX45 Metal Gear servo
Turnigy 20-30C 1300mAh 1.3 2s Li-Po batteries
I am only running these electronics because I got the Spawn Kit and all the electronics in a trade. I will be doing many upgrades.

Doesn't look that bad at all. Just a remark, the Rx will still pick up signal even when it's nearly out of sight without using the antenna tube. Just makes for cleaner body lines.

Body looks like mine before I cut more out. If you mark and trim the top edge to line up in the back, it would look loads faster.
Sorta like this

I didn't know that. Not that I do I'll make that change in the next set of panels I make.

Thanks for the info.

I'll be making that change too. I like those panels you have. The lines look amazing. What tiers are you running?

I've made a few items to help Blue out in her travels.
First up winch anchor

sand ladders

cargo box that holds a few allens, shackles, tow ropes, and the 9V my winch runs on

Here are the pics from Blue's second makeover... err rather upgrades I guess.
First up are the custom diff skid plates. I had my doubts about how these would preform, but they did pretty good.
Front

Rear

The next upgrade I did was a Belly Tuck. I used MaxxCrawl's idea I saw on http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-wraith/530443-tummy-tuck-5.html#post5708796 basically I used 1/4 aluminum C-Channel to reinforce the mounting points

Let me know what yaw think.

Did you cut the skid back to allow for the c channel or just spread it out looking at there I would have run the sea Channel as the C not U

I shaved that little lip on the skid to put the c channel flat against it. I figured the way I did it it would be stronger now that the lip is gone. I've ran about 4 packs through on the trails and it's holding great. I'll post if problems arise.

Another update on Blue's third makeover. I finally did the Fastback mod. I also got the Spawn interior painted up and decals put on. Just a side note on the Belly Tuck and Spawn Interior... I did not need to do any modifications to the interior to get it to fit with the Belly Tuck. Now I just need to take the cage off and finish painting the parts I used for the Fastback.

Great build so far! How do you like the Trapador's? I have them on my list of things to buy for the Ranger Buggy build. But not a lot of the rock bouncers I am modeling my build after run them.

Overall I like them. I like the compound and they conform pretty decent. However for the terrain I'm running on i tend to loose traction when I'm going on a steepish incline that is loose dry dirt. I have been able to get up by steering left and right back and forth quickly. I haven't had any other issues with them. I am only running them because they come with the spawn kit I got. I am looking into getting the Ruptures by jconcepts that I saw on mikemcE's rig.

My only qualm with tires like that is they don't look scale to me. It's a oversight I'm not willing to give in to. With that said, if you see my builds, you'll know that I am a tire whore. Is that a thing in the RC world?

I get that for sure. I haven't totally decide on what tires I want to try out. There are sooooo many to choose from. I'm sure that is a thing, and I'm sure I'll be one once I start trying some.
