billj's first MOA build

I spent about 6 bucks on my knuckle weight setup and it was never easier. A drill press some brass washers and viola.

When i get some time, im going back to look at threads. Ill probably end up making my own. Thanks

Comm cutting fluid? yuck....

I never use that stuff......if you need to lube it, just use a sharpie. For whatever reason it provides enough lube for a good cut on some lathes....

I don't use anything though, we are only cutting copper after all...

My motors are cool for now, i have only had them a month and a half."thumbsup" With not a lot of running on them, how often should they be turned?

I do mine once I feel the power is not there anymore. Should be pretty easy to tell when you climb stuff and also when you floor it should notice less wheel speed.

I say about every 30 minutes of solid run time.....not 30 min of course time.....this translates into about 2-3 comp weekends......

I personally would rebuild before every comp. It keeps the cuts smaller and the motor running its best. You won't always need to replace the brushes either....just monitor them for length. When they have lost about 1/5th, I toss them.....

That's what I do right befor a big comp I tear the motors open clean the cans oil the bearings check brushes and cut coms that way there 110%.

Can always get a nice bright light and shine it in the can were the comp is at and see how brown or black it is, and like Eddie said the earlier you cut the com the less you have to cut.

Had a local comp today, finished 1st. It was a tie going into the finals, me and Tydl. He went first got past gate nine, and got wedged and broke a gear in his UGC Viper XR10. I went next and was able to complete the whole course, for the Win. It was exciting"thumbsup"Tried a new tire/foam setup. Rovers all around w/firm outer foams in the rear. And medium outer foams in the front. Wasnt too happy with how they felt. But it might be because the rovers were brand new, just out of the bag. I should of tried to break them in a bit , before trying to comp with them. So after course 1, i switched back to my trusty Sedonas.

link mounts

r u going to run MFawv mounts on this and r u going to inboard uppers? they should bring the uppers toward the chassis enough to still get good triangulation from uppers with them inboard.

rig looks good.
