billj's first MOA build

The truck looks Badass! It is really a great combination of RCC vendors. Did you get that mysterious motor mount on your boys truck yet? I gotta dig out my xr and finish it, I have been procrastinating because it goes, just has some ghetto looking parts I want to replace along with about an extra mile of wires.

Thanks chris, hope it runs half as good as it looks. Tyler is procrastinating with the mount. But soon i hope, been too busy with my build to work on his.

very nice, look great."thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup".

Thanks John for posting up the pics. I cant believe i brought fresh paint/chassis/Was dual esc adapter and forgot my camera. Of course if i knew i was gonna finish dead last, shred my 7950 gears , should of stayed home. Hey at least Tyler got second."thumbsup"

On a good note the 2 fxrs/wantAsummit dual esc adapter worked flawlessly. "thumbsup" But my 7950 ate a gear, so i basically had to start the final course with no/very little steering. I did managed to get 3 progresses, but the servo was screaming at me the whole time:cry:

Now that i have the servo off. Ill install the mfawv upper link mounts, these look great. I have to get shorter ti links for the new mounts. Hopefully ill be able to inboard my upper links"thumbsup"

Installed the mfawv upper link mounts today. "thumbsup" Nice stuff Mike, Im very happy with these. With this mount i shortens the links 20mm (I think), which makes it pretty easy to inboard them. I bought shorter Lunsford for the front uppers(70mm), used the 90mm from front and installed on the rear uppers. Then took the 110mm that used to be on the rear and used them for front lowers. I hope this is not too confusing:shock: Anyway the articulation is still good, nice and smooth"thumbsup"I do think i need a little smaller battery, my 3s 1000 is pretty tight. I was thinking of looking for some 800 3s anyway. Now just gotta wait for my replacement gear for my 7950, and ill be ready to rock.

Bill, inboarding the links is definitely the way to go "thumbsup"

Plenty triangulation still with them this way, glad you approve 8)

Looks great!!!!

I'm still contemplating the inboarding. One of the biggest challenges will be clearing my battery.

I told you from the start, you had more Berg experience. Just following your lead!

Looks great!!!!

My battery is a hair too large, but i think a 850 might be just fine.

Well since i cant run my crawler until i get my gear for the 7950. I decided to make a little change. I have had these tubes/link for a while now.(thanks Mini). With the Crazy Origon motor guard/battery tray mount, It was like fitting 10lbs of shit into a 5lb bag. I shaved the mount right where it hits the servo, shaved a little off the servo heat sink. Just a tad off the mfawv servo mount and i came up with this"thumbsup" What a pain in the ass. But i really wanted to use the CO mount, so i made it work. I also got some ckrc 6mm rear axles and lockouts. Ill put those on tomorrow, hopefully.

Got the axles pretty much set up. Set up the front, just need servo parts. Put the 6mm ckrc straight axles in, no more sloppy dog bones.

So were you sweating a bit as you were grinding away on that servo??

Oh yeah, the case was pretty trashed anyway. It was on the front of my fastback, then the berg. But still it kinda sucks grinding away on it.

I got her running.

I had a problem fitting the battery in with the links inboard. So decided to move the fronts back out again. Put a little bend in the Ti links, i think they will be fine. Articulates nice and smooth.

And i don't have to buy a bunch of smaller battery's"thumbsup"
Steers really well, the outside tire is bottomed out on the Super 300's.
