Best First Upgrades - ECX Barrage

Good catch on the motor size, Hb. By the way your detailed posts about improving the Barrage are a big reason I bought my first crawler.

Anyway, I thought about bigger spurs too, though that might mean fabricating my own bull and pinion cover--which I'm not afraid to do. As for shaving down the gearbox housing I asked myself if it's worth it, for what would probably be a minor increase in torque. The crawler performs well as it is. I can't believe what it can do.

Maybe with gen 2 out soon, some manufacturer will release a compact yet more powerful motor with a 1/8 shaft, at an affordable price. Ha.

Cheers (gonna go crawl now)

Check out team brood for a motor. He makes a mini crawler motor and has been since the losi mrc was used a 1.9 class comp rig. Great motors and I believe rebuildable too.

On my V2 kit it was the front right wheel. The stock plastic locker gears are weak. The Redcat E16 replacements are available for around $35 for two.

No that one fit the Everest 10/ gen 7 that's redcats 1/10.

Everest 16/ exceed 16 / exc temper and the hsp 16 are all crawlers that run the same axles and the version 1 barrage.

Easiest way to tell the difference besides the part number is the 1/10 spool has 4 mounting hardware holding the ring gear to the spool and the one that fits the barrage and other crawlers mentioned have 3 holding the ring gear and spool.

Just checked. Shipping is 33 dollars on that 18 buck part.
Did you check eBay?

I run pro-line BGF AT KO2's on mine... I have a set of 1.9's on my barrage, and 2.2's on my maxstone 10. Its a great tire, dont let the close lugs scare you away if you like the all terrain BFGs.... I also run them on my 1:1 jeep and explorer, though in a larger size...
This is my first 1.9 crawler, so I havent tried anything else on it. I just know the BFG all terrains work great on all terrains I have tried, which includes everything except mud.
