Chris the Battery Man made up that shortened Delrin skid plate, so I modded the chassis to fit it. By the way, I HIGHLY recommend wearing gloves and a dust mask when working with carbon!

Fair call, if they are 1" wheels it is easy to do with a 13mm Drill bit and a dremel or angle grinder. No fancy machines required."thumbsup"
 
I've had a streak of bad luck so I haven't had a crawler up and running since December. The nice part is I have the crawler itself built. It's all ready to slip the electronics in. Electronics are all soldered up and have been coated to waterproof them. So tonight we should cover the electronics up in some shrinkwrap and solder up to the motors. Should have a working crawler this evening.

The demons have finally left so I can give a good update. I got the new homes mini ESC's and the 13 turn 500 pullers. Wow is really the best way to describe it. The wheel speed of those motors is absolutely insane along with the punch. The one difference I noticed coming for my 540 16 turn motors is there is less torque, but you don't miss it. The crawler is faster then my 16t motors on 4s.

I was super excited to try out my new hitec 9830 servo. The first thing you notice right off the bat is the servo is silent. There's absolutely no humming or buzzing, it's dead silent. When the crawler is plugged in, it makes absolutely no noise at all. The overall feel of the servos it does feel more powerful,but maybe not stronger kind of hard to describe. Another great up side is that servo doesn't get tired or fade off. You could wiggle the steering wheel back and fourth as much as you want and you will always have the exact same amount of power. Like I said no fade off at all

The other parts I picked up are some RcBro shock caps. The machining, fit and finish all looks great. They made the overall length of the shock longer which I did prefer. I moved the shock forward two holes on the chassis. I really like the shock angle that I currently have. It really allows the rear of the crawler to flex nicely. I did drill 1/16 hole into the shock cap to bleed the shock oil. I also put on some angle rode ends. The reason I did this is to have the shock angles that I prefer.

Does the frt wheel rub/bind agenst the battery during full lock? Rig looks good. "thumbsup"

I have been so happy with this battery mount. We had some carbon fiber in the garage so we cut that and with one screw, screwed it on. The only drawback is you do need to use a short battery. The ones I found that work are the Max amps and the cheap battery packs which are hard-to-find these days. Here is a picture of the mount

What did you ever find out about the servo programming? I did not follow up on it after our pm.

I still think it's the best servo I have ever bought"thumbsup"

I never did look more into it, i pluged it in and had a great time. I cant say enough good things about this servo, I feel lucky to get my hands on one, it was hard to find. I love that it doesnt make any noise, I guess I got use to all the buzzing noise that the 7950 makes. Im so glad I took your advice to picke me up one. "thumbsup"
