Anyone using the Hobbywing QUICRun WP 1080 ESC?

Does anyone know how many actual amps their servo pulls at stall? The 20-30kg servos I’m looking at draw quite a bit more than the 3 amps that the 1080 supplies. Normal operating amp draw is much lower, but I just wonder about the potential for harm when the servo gets bogged down.

Going off this test, my Power HD LW-20MG can draw up to 4.3 amps which is obviously 1.3 amps over what the 1080's internal BEC can supply. I don't see it doing any harm as such but you might get brownouts. I recommend an external BEC like the Castle.

Edit: Looks like the 1080 can actually supply those kind of amps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYqDSJaSX4A&feature=youtu.be
I'd still recommend an external BEC as I'm sure there's only so much the internal BEC in these cheap ESC's can handle when you're actually out driving :)

Thanks for the reply. Looking at HiTec 25+kg servos, I’ll probably go ahead and get a BEC. I’m running a cheap Amazon 20kg servo now but want to replace it soon because it doesn’t center.
