I would like to check out one of your guys comps and thinking about driving to taylors falls this weekend but where in T. F. is the comp

Here's a link the the previous post that has a satalite view of the location. (the second pic is a closer look): http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showpost.php?p=333403&postcount=762

I can get you some basic driving directions from, lets say, Duluth... (give me a little bit to work on that...)
*Edit: Looks like Kevin's got that covered.*

yeay , i love working in this heat

anyone have a set of the big walmart Nylint wheels sit'n around?

lookin' to possibably trade ,

man , i wish i could go to this comp , why the hell do people plan stumm in the mid day? from noon to 1?

let me know how it goes fellas

Etype , do you have pics of the body you are talking about ? like the damaged areas?
if so mail 'em to Shadow_walker_88@yahoo.com

I'll just post the pictures since I have them hosted on my site.

First here is the front repair. The entire front clip was missing from under the front side marker. I did my best to replicate the shape with sheets of styrene plastic. Its very close, but the flare should be farther forward.

Second repair done was to replace a section that was missing in the rear quarter panel. Its very hard to spot the repair, but I would take any measurements off the other side for this as well.

and one last picture, this was the picture I was given of the truck. You can see how much I had to replace on that front clip.

I've got that set of those nylint wheels/tires here, but 2 of the rims have broken mounts. If you're looking for wheels to run I don't think they'd work.

p.s. what's a 'stumm'?

Finished redoing the TLT last night. Just need to mount up body posts and electronics. Its just a cleaner stick setup with lower CG. Not to radical of a change from the last setup.

Well guys I talked the family into going. The only thing is I will have to leave as soon as I'm done running.

Etype R I have also changed my rig every time. Just not as drastic as you:grin: I'm also changing things again:roll:

See you all there.

Stumm = a retard that cant type stuFF (me) :flipoff:

yea , that body should work , he is planning on starting production early this fall , so when could i get the body from ya? if ya want i could swing by your place and pick it up , ow what ever ya want , gimme a call

Attention MN Rock Crawlers...
There is a little shindig up in Cambridge going on over Labor Day weekend called the RC X Games. Jerry Sr. & Jr. were talking about it at the last comp. Well, this morning I got an e-mail from someone checking out our website who invited us to there to run in a rock crawling event. I don't know how much of an official event it is at the X Games because I didn't see anything on the FHF website (http://www.fhfracing.com/index.html) about any rock crawling. And then ironically enough when I went to RC Car Kings today after work, one of the guys there said "what's this I hear about MNRCRC showing up at the X Games?" I was checking out the website and the video from last year's event (http://www.slapmafro.com/movies/SMF-RC-X-Games.wmv), and it looks like a bad a$$ event to go to and a great opportunity to get our name out there! Check out the links I included and let me know if anyone is interested in going so I can reply to the email and maybe contact the host about being up there doing a demo or something.

I'm in!!
Also, if possible Kevin, I'd maybe hook a ride with you this Sunday and leave the trailer home. I'll toss some gas $ your way.

What does everyone think about doing a scale 2.2 class next season and dropping the 2.2 unlimited class?

I was thinking for the rules, somthing like this.

  1. 12.5" maxx wheel base
  2. Must use shocks or leaf springs, all four corners must be sprung.
  3. If shocks are used, they must be verticle with a 10* maxx angle.
  4. Bodys must remain as full as possible (Full doors and rockers required, no folding) Fenders may be trimmed to clear tires. And bumpers can be removed for added clearance.
  5. If a tube frame, must have panels (Hood, door panels, roof, and grill)
  6. 2ws only, no rear steer allowed.
  7. No wheel widenders allowed.
This is just a rough idea for rules right now. But I think a scale class would be a lot of fun, and challanging.

What are you going to do when my brother and I come back out?

MWRCA's scale class rules are as follows.

  • Have a chassis that extends past the axles.
  • Have a full body that gives the truck a realistic look, tube chassis are accepted.
  • Both axles must be driven from one gearbox. (Shaft drive)
  • Front steering only

Truck will be judged by appearance to see if they are worthy of the class.

I'm thinking about allowing winches to be used.

Don't know about that max shock angle thing. I know of some 1:1 rigs that have a greater shock angle then 10 degrees. Plus, I think that would be very hard to regulate.

No wheel wideners? What happens if someone runs bigger 2.2 tires like Imex All-t's, or Red rocks. Or they want to use a wide body.

I'd have no problem myself in adding a 2.2 scale class, we could even run the 2.2 mods still? We could figure our rules over the winter or whenever.
Looks to be a busy crawling summer, MNRCRC comps every 2 weeks throughout the rest of the summer, X-games crawling on Labor Day weekend, Moab Nationals a week later, MWRCA fall comp, IHobby Expo in Chi town.
all this in between me renovating a 240 unit apt complex. I know I won't get time to build a scaler until over the winter.

who's in for this Sunday's comp??

North Country??
Adogg?? I know it's going to be hot again.
Silverdirt?? you coming down?
Jerry Sr?? Jerry Jr??
MN Gumby?? Lock those clod axles?
9Guy9??

Yes but we have only had 3 trucks in our state for the class. And the top points are pretty much the same as the standard 2.2 class when you look at the points. Because the TLT's are kept at a shorter wheel base they do not have the need for rear steer that the clods and Juggernauts need. And you can get more steering out of a TLT if you do some grinding.

Right now we only have 2 people in the TLT mod class, where in the competetion in that? And we do have Mnster and his Bro, but they will only come up and play with us a few times this season. So in the final points, they are not much of a factor.

i'm down for the RC X-games , i wont be attemting to pull off a low orbit launch on anything tho , looks like it'll be a riot

i'm game for the scale class addition

I don't think I'll be able to make it Sunday, I'm going up north that morning. Plus its gonna be hot.

I think a scale class would be cool, I'll probably make one for next season.

Looks like they'll be time for some bashing after comp since it looks like it might be a small turn out. so far looks like.
