any crawlers in MN?

freetimecrawler said:
Great job on the website. How many hits so far now?

670 hits and counting ;-)!!! I've got permission from 3 sites so far to use their logos as links and I'm looking for more-but I'm being picky-only quality sites. We also need some more action pics to add to our gallery-it's getting hits, but we could get more.

i dunno , wanna meet up in the IKEA parking lot over on the North side of the Mall Of America?

Nicklepimp , do you have a flash or thumb drive? i have a bunch of pics ya can have , i dont want to mail them all :flipoff:

Yeah, I'm up for some running, I just have to wire this new clod I got today so I can do a little testing tomorrow. I don't think I'm gonna keep this chassis. It's supposed to start out dreary and get nicer towards later afternoon.
I need to pick up some metal yokes for both, well started a 3rd, so for all 3 of my tlt's, I still haven't locked the clod axles, but the one I just got has them locked.

Pick a time thats good for you and post it.
Are you thinking Burnsville?

I was thinking 2ish would work better for me (yes, the burnsville spot)... But i'm also thinking that the weather isn't going to accommodate us today. We'll see how it is in a few hours, but the weather reports say that it's suppose to be off-and-on this morning with more of a chance in the afternoon.
I'll hop on here sometime between 1:30/2:00 and let you know or see what you think if it's still worth it.

What do you mean by flash or thumb drive?

I'm charging batteries now. Pavement is dry here right now, haven't seen any rain yet.
It's supposed to be iffy. If it's not raining, I'm going to get this new clod out for testing. That June 10th summer series kick off and the MWRCA comp will be here before I know it, and I haven't had near enough wheel time on any of my rigs. I know it's all for just some good fun, but I do wanna have my rigs at least competitive. That takes run time and lots of tuning, I need to decide if I'm gonna try and run this new clod with this chassis? or scrap it and get something else for these axles. I also have a new set of built tlt axles with full barings sitting here and a Delrin P4 chassis. With 3 Tlt's and 2 clods, I should at least always have something up and running. Common weather, start cooperating
With nothing more then a little curb climbing and stuff, I'm thinking this new clod is gonna need re-shocking, and lowering. I just wanna get it on the rocks!!!

Great news guys... I just received permission from a couple more sites to use their logos on our links page. We've been complimented on our site and our rigs. Even better news, RCGuy says they might be able to find a prize or two for the season or championship winner!!!

They are in the midst of changing their site and they are going to send me a couple different logo's to choose from.

Excellent!! RCGUY has good products and fast shipping.

My batteries are charged and I'm heading to the spot in Burnsville to test my new clod. I'll be there about 2:15 till? if anyone is up for it?

Edit: This new clod is fast, he must have stock pinions or something? I can do 4 wheel burnouts with it. ;-) I might just keep it this way and make it my basher/trail rig/mudder and stick with tlt's 2.2's for the crawling.

Hey Troy, I was wondering if you have happened to have a chance to look into replacement TLT axle parts? I have a spare R&P here from J's TLT, but I haven't taken them out yet, so I'm not sure what kind of shape they are in. Would it be possible to order a couple of sets through you, or should I take my chances with Tower?

if troy dosent have'em in stock yet , i have aome come'n in on wed , at least they should be here

You ordered R&P's? I could really use two sets, but the rear is the one that's really bad. As soon as the rear end's strained at all, it just grinds. How much do they run? Are you gonna be at the Cannon Falls GTG on the 20th? If so, if you have extras, I could just pick one up from you then and pop it in.

I only ordered shafts, I'm not sure if Pro beater ordered the ring and bevel gear shafts?
I'm going to order some in right now.

Great, looking forward to you being on-line a little more now.
I'm supposed to call tomorrow to find out eta on both axle shafts and ring gears and bevel gear shafts.

Clods tuned for now, I might go with a new chassis for it though. Not until after the gtg.

I'm also thinking of doing a more to scale build for a trail rig, not a ladder type frame, but as scale as possible still with a shorter wb.

Mock-up pic's:

Next Gtg

The next gtg is less then a week away.
The weather so far is looking good, partly cloudy and 73. (I'm gonna be optimistic)
Nickelpimp has done a great job on the website. (Thanks Kevin)
The club is making great progress. (thanks all)
All we're missing is some of the earlier posters that haven't been on for a while.
I think we have a great core group here, but I'm really hoping there will be more then 6-7 active members here.
I really think the comps would be more fun with 10-12 regulars.
Here's another shout out to the guys who haven't posted up for awhile.

I was showing the wife the web site last night. She's very impressed with what we have accomplished so far. She's not a big RC fan or anything, but she does appreciate what we've done so far. I need to check out that cheapbatteries.com and see about getting some 2500 Mah AA packs made. These 650 Mah Nylint packs just don't have enough run time. It'd really suck to be in a comp and have the batteries die half way through the course. Running rear steer really puts a drain on battery life!

nice lookin mock up freetime........

i only ordered the replacment axles , not the ring&pinion , i they have a set in stock on thursday i'll pick'em up......

everyone wanna convoy it for the g2g? or whats goin on?

I'd appreciate taking a look for me if your gonna be there. I knew these were going out before I built the new crawler, I just though I had more life left in them than this. All I really NEED is one at this point I guess.
